EYBL Circuit Session 1-2027s Difference Makers from the South

Many teams hit the road this past week for the first NCAA live period of the AAU season. The EYBL circuit was held on the west coast in Phoenix, Arizona at the Phoenix Convention Center. There were twenty-four courts filled with an abundance of talent and the baselines were full of college coaches watching intently. Among the deep pool of talent there were several prospects from the southeast that stood out with their strong performances on the court.    A smooth combo guard that holds multiple DI offers. Jaidiah showed that she is a solid three level scorer. She was able to attack the basket and get buckets. Several times she finished with contact and got an "And 1". Her midrange game is effective, and she consistently can make three's. Blake always plays hard on the defensive side of the ball trying to make it difficult for her opponents.     Taylor proved she can use her body and skill to find ways to put the ball in the basket. She is undersized at the center position but uses her power and strength to make up for it. She has nice back to the basket moves. When the defender is high she will create space and use her footwork to make a drop step move and finish with a soft touch off the backboard. When the defense is straight behind her, she shows her versatility with a spin move and sometimes will finish on the opposide side of the rim.       A tough physical post that can score in the paint or step out and knock down shots. JaNiya is a true team player in all aspects. She will always put her team first and does whatever is necessary to help her team succeed. That may mean getting a double-double in scoring and rebounding which she accomplishes often. She may have to guard the best post player and shut them down or be the vocal leader on the team to get her teammates motivated and keep them going.     Morgan had a great weekend and caught many coaches' eyes with her toughness and hardnosed play. She is physically strong which makes her difficult to guard when she attacks hard downhill. Knox is also a force on the glass at her position. One of her best attributes is her playmaking ability with her vision to see things that are happening on the court. She can make the right pass at the correct time. Defensively, she gives 100 percent at all times.     Amani has great quickness to make slashing one on one moves past defenders. She has a shifty crossover that allows her to get into the paint. Barner does a great job of playing off two feet and being able to make the next move without turning the ball over. If she learns to finish consistently at the rim her stock will continue to rise even higher.     One of the most improved players from last summer. Lauren is playing more explosive around the rim and getting up over defenders to get shots off. Consistency in finishing will be the key to her success. She is dominant defensively and rebounding the ball. Humphrey has a ton of upside, and I look for her to keep making her mark through this Spring and Summer.     The most dominate scorer on the Hornets team. Lenise continues to be impressive and show why she is a top ranked player in North Carolina. One of the things that stood out to me was how much she has improved in her face up jump shot. She has extended the floor and is a major threat all the way out to the three-point line. She is shooting it at a very high percentage too. Joseph also did a great job of running in transition and getting easy lay ins around the basket.     This is a kid that has a mixed bag of treats for everyone. She is strong, powerful and skilled. She can knock down shots from beyond the arc and make it look easy. The next play she is coming full steam ahead right at you and using dribble moves to explode to the rim to score. Lastly, she may get on the block and post you up. She is decisive and makes things happen on the court. A great pickup for the next level.
