This is a kid that has a mixed bag of treats for everyone. She is strong, powerful and skilled. She can knock down shots from beyond the arc and make it look easy. The next play she is coming full steam ahead right at you and using dribble moves to explode to the rim to score. Lastly, she may get on the block and post you up. She is decisive and makes things happen on the court. A great pickup for the next level.

Pink Bracket championship honors were bestowed on 4A North Augusta following the Yellow Jackets’ 46-32 victory over one of the toughest 5A Division 1 outs there is in Dutch Fork. Walker had another productive day with a 17-point effort. What makes Walker such a matchup problem is her ability to attempt – and connect – from deep. Walker also maintains a high degree of activity that can leave opponents confused on how to contain her and the attention she can attract from defenses can have opponents in position to make plays. Walker is one of four 2027s on this year’s Yellow Jackets team.

Walker is such a matchup problem for many teams – and host 5A Division 1 Blythewood was no exception. When defending her, one has to watch out for if she will ferociously attack the rim or if she will stay behind the arc and attempt a 3-point try. Walker understands the art of seeing a defense, finding a driving lane to the rim and finishing strong at the rim with a high-percentage shot. The 17 points that were placed on the scoreboard by the multi-talented junior Yellow Jackets star were key in 4A North Augusta outlasting the Bengals in what was a contest of defending state champions.

Walker has also seen a fair share of offers arrive in her direction. The 2027 star for another of South Carolina’s premier 4A teams in North Augusta secured her latest offer from Elon and its coach Charlotte Smith. She adds that offer to previous ones she received from South Carolina State, Georgia Southern, Furman, UNC-Wilmington and North Carolina A&T. Walker is a two-time state champion with the Yellow Jackets and the 12.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.7 steals she averaged last season were an important element in allowing North Augusta to add to its already extensive trophy case.

By virtue of its 4A state win over Westside last season, North Augusta re-established itself as the team to beat among 4A schools. Along with offering Evans, the Yellow Jackets’ star junior also is on the radar of Furman. Walker also landed an offer from UNC-Wilmington. If one had a chance to watch her performance at the SC Live Camp at Riverview Park, she displayed signs that she could be more difficult to contain than ever. A versatile player that can give a team minutes as either a one, two, three or a wing, she has now been part of two North Augusta state championship teams and Al Young’s Yellow Jackets will certainly be part of that conversation once again in 2025-26.

Given Riverview Park is only a hop, skip and a jump away from the home court of the defending 4A champions, this year’s SC Live Event operated as a de facto home event for North Augusta. Walker was already dangerous for the Yellow Jackets, but she showed signs during Saturday’s play that she may be more so than ever. She had a stretch during a game against one fo the state’s premier 3A teams in Keenan where she did a bit of everything – getting up and down the court, displaying confidence her ability to drain 3-point attempts, rebounding and finishing strong at the rim. That versatility she consistently shows displays itself on a consistent basis and it is doing so again for North Augusta.
