Takeover Cinco De Mayo Rising Stars

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Takeover Cinco De Mayo's annual get together was once again a hit. Teams and players flooded in to the DMV from hours away to compete against some of the areas top players. I spent most of my time watching the 15 and 16U age groups and I was impressed. She had a great attitude motivating her team to erase a 22 point second half deficit in their game against GLP. She shot the ball well and had a nice touch from beyond the arc. She sliced the lane and had control catching and finishing on the move. She pushed the ball quickly up the court getting her team into their offence and getting the ball up the court in transition. The middle schooler was dominant inside finishing in a variety of ways. She had an impressive reverse lay in after a rebound in traffic. Another play she beat everyone down the court for the catch and transition finish. She jumped a pass and took the ball the length of the floor for the score. She resisted the urge to play up and stayed her age group which I think was a great decision. The floor time is paying dividends and she is able to showcase some off her skillset without the added pressure. She is strong inside, getting position and finishing well at the rim. If she keeps focus and keep improving at her pace she could be one of the most sought after players in her class by her junior and senior seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
