Some of these players might not be well known now, but they will if they continue to play like they did the last two days in Homer.

E'miah, who is a very talented player scoring the ball, spent a lot of the game helping run the offense when sets stalled or the fast break was stopped. She was much more vocal than I have seen her in the past and used her voice to help try and fill the void of Lydia Ledford as well. Fields was still able to put the ball in the basket with relative ease in the two games that I saw Buford play. She is a physically gifted player who has a strong upper body while also being very. quick with and without the ball. She scored from the midrange and in the paint several times using skill and finesse at times and brute strength at others. Fields shot the ball well from behind the three point line and when she got to the charity stripe. Her leadership and passing ability were two parts of her game I thought stood out. E'miah recently received scholarship offers from Georgia State and ETSU.

Audrey, much like Fields, is the unquestioned leader of her relatively young team. She is surrounded by a lot of talented guards and is the tallest player for Elbert County so she spent a lot of time guarding the post on defense. something she did and has done well the last three years. One of her biggest attributes is her versatility and flexibility on the court to play 4 or maybe even five positions. She held down the paint defensively and was active rebounding the basketball. On offense,Audrey can go get a bucket pretty much any time she wants to. She should a lot of maturity and patience working the high post against opposing team's zone defense the two days I saw her play. She looked smooth going coast to coast and scoring or dishing the ball of on running the break off of missed shots and turnovers. When her team needed a basket, Lunsford hit multiple midrange shots from the free throw line in high low action against the zone as well as popping out and knocking down multiple three point shots. She has the ball handling, vision, and passing ability to play the point guard position along with two to three others in college. She recently earned an offer from Erskine University and received interest from multiple other schools.

JK played a very good floor game for Banks before coming alive shooting the ball late against a very good Elbert County team. Like Lunsford, Gibson's official position is small forward but because of skill and size to go along with a very good set of skills, she often plays 3 positions and could be four this season for Banks. Gibson hit four threes in the game with all of them (I believe) coming in the second half in about a five to seven minute stretch late in the game. She rebounded the ball very well from her guard position and helps the two rising freshman run the point and offense when it was needed. Gibson stood out last year not only because of her size and ability to shoot the ball, but also getting down hill and finishing at the rim through contact. She is one of the more underrated players in Georgia who could have a breakout junior season.

Marleigh was talking from the time I walked into the gym until Banks County finished playing their first game of the day, specifically on defense where she made sure her teammates knew where their help was and if a screen was coming. Dale is about as strong and athletic as any kid in Georgia that is over six feet tall. She has finished in the top three of the shot put the last two years, something she will have the opportunity to do in college. Offensively Marleigh was able to physically overwhelm Elbert County while showing soft hands and good touch at the same time. She does a great job sitting down and extending her arms in the post giving her teammates a target and sealing the defender behind her. Once she catches the ball, Dale gets it up to the rim very quickly and with great accuracy. She would have no trouble at not only doing track and field in college, but also contribute on the basketball team wherever she goes.

Niya made quite a splash in her first year in Georgia as one of the best players in her region and establishing herself as one of the very best '29s in Georgia. She scores the ball in a variety of ways with her dominant left hand and makes it look easy while doing it. She is one of the better athletes in her class and Daniels knows how to use her physical gifts. She does a great job hitting the offensive boards and getting put backs without commiting careless fouls. She has the shooting ability to stretch the defense out to the perimeter and the quickness and agility to blow by them when they do. She also is a very good rim protector who blocked and altered shots against Morgan County.

Peyton had started the Spring off very hot scoring the ball for Redline, so it was no surprise to see her continue her stretch of very good play. At nearly six feet tall, Denmark did a really good job in both games of using her size and length to score repeatedly at the rim as well as from 8-10 feet on midrange jump shots. She also connected on multiple shots from three point range for the Lady Wolves. Defensively, Peyton was excellent in Buford's full court trapping defense. She is able to apply maximum pressure with her wingspan and constant activity on the ball. She also picked up a couple steals jumping into the passing lane and intercepting the ball before laying it up for easy buckets.
