DMV Live: Key Performances

<p>Ka'nai, had a good showing of her versatile game and the ability to score at any level. Nyla, is tall with ball handling of a point guard. Afia, the sleeper can defend every position. Sarae, is ready to show her combo guard skills. Reagan, has a half second release. Kennedy, is my newcomer and should be ranked by start of the season.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pure Scorer @ St. Vincent Pallotti</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Ka'nai is a multi-level collegiate scorer, done best in the mid range with a stop and pop or crossover mid fade away. Her height, allows her to shoot the three with confidence at 37% for the weekend, 35% from the field, and 85% from the line.</p>   <p>Defensively, she is just as effective showing she is also a two-way player converting five steals, two blocks, and grabbing 12 rebounds. </p>   <p>Look for Ka'nai to be top five in scoring this winter for IAAM-A Conference.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Swiss Army Knife @ The Potomac School</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">If you didn't you know...now you know...Nyla can flat out ball. </p>   <p>In front of wall to wall scouts, Nyla's game did not disappoint. She quietly averaged 19 points for the weekend as she was able to score in three levels. She has ball handling skills of a point guard with the height of a forward which makes her merely impossible to guard.</p>   <p>Nyla can play on the block when defended by smaller opponents, while also stretching the floor with taller and slower opponents. Defensively, she showed her knowledge on the block by becoming a 'wall' and disrupting her opponent's shot on multiple defensive attempts.</p>   <p>Within the last 40 seconds of the first half, she grabbed a defensive rebound, camly walked the ball down the court as she was playing the clock, then effortlessly pulled up from the volleyball line and knocked down a three.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Sleeper @ Bishop Ireton</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Afia was arguably the best on the ball defender for the weekend. </p>   <p class="text-gray-700">She was able to guard her opponents full court. Once finally crossing into half court, Afia understood how to use the sideline and half court line as another defender and was able to trap her opponent multiple times.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Her on the ball pressure allowed just three points (first half) when she was on the court and another six points during the second half, before the game got out of reach.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Stock Riser @ Good Counsel</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Serae showed why she is the best combo guard of her class this weekend as she was able to create six assists and five steals. Along with that, she also displayed she can handle the ball with pressure and still command her team to progress through their offensive set.</p>   <p>Defensively, Serae has the size, strength, and speed to stay in front of her opponent without fouling as she only recorded five fouls in three games. </p>   <p>Serae will need a good sophomore campaign to put her and Lyla in the running for the strongest backcourt tandem in the WCAC.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Stock Riser @ St. Vincent Pallotti</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Don't let her size fool you.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Reagan is perfectly placed as Pallotti's spark plug as she is quietly solidifying that sixth man spot. She is multi talented, in Pallotti's system as a wing player who has a half-second release and can pull it from anywhere behind the arc.</p>   <p>Look for Reagan's minutes to take a major leap this winter once becomes more consistent with her outside shot. On the defensive end, she is quick enough to bring discomfort to her opponent by staying in their front pocket.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Next Up @ The Academy of Holy Cross</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Kennedy is next up on the ranking list for the class of 2029. </p>   <p>She showed signs of being a 'top 10' point guard in Maryland as she was able to dribbling with both hands, staying on her line to the basket with contact. Defense is her strongest asset is her on the ball speed and activity hands which should make for a strong argument to keep her on the court this winter.</p>
