Emma has a bright future ahead of her at Brighton, and she has the skills to be a very productive member of the backcourt. She maintains her balance and transfers the ball smoothly to her shooting hand for finishes around the rim without traveling. Emma knocked three-point shots efficiently from different spots throughout practice and went 7 of 10 (70%) from the top of the key. She buried a corner three off the hoop during 3 on 2, dished out an assist in 3v3, and scored efficiently with her right and left, making smooth transfers in stride to convert layups off two feet during 3-man weave. Emma was active on defense, deflecting passes on the perimeter for steals, and stepped up to swat a step-back jumper. Her stationary ball-handling was among the best. Emma maintained an athletic stance throughout the drill: strong and fast dribbles, switched hands with ease, eyes up, and low crossovers. She demonstrated good footwork during basket finishes with a nice euro-step, knocked down a corner jumper off a sweep, and immediately applied coaching feedback. Emma followed the directions from the coach and drained the one-dribble pull-up from the elbow. She was very accurate shooting threes up top off a 1-2 step, finished first in sprints, and made 80% of her free throws (8/10). Emma showed great initiative by asking what a scout is looking to see and how she could improve after [program_tooltip program_id='1870134' first='Michigan' last='Pure'] Practice.

Ruby stood out early at [program_tooltip program_id='1870134' first='Michigan' last='Pure'] practice. Her finishing dexterity around the rim, converting layups from different angles and releases, paced the group. Ruby dropped in a floater with an excellent pizza pie release with her left, changed hands well, scored difficult underhand finishes in the drill, used the top of the glass with great touch, and shot the ball with a high release. Ruby was efficient from beyond the arc, knocking down threes confidently from the slot and up top. She hit 70% of her straightaway threes (7/10), making four straight in the drill. Ruby called out the names of teammates during the 3-man weave before making the passes and used excellent wall-up technique to block a shot during the 1v1 segment. She delivered a great jump pass over a defender, understood spacing, presented a target with her hands up while cutting through the lane, kept her hands active on defense, and drained triples using a 1-2 step. Ruby drained a catch-and-shoot corner three, then a wing jumper during 5v5. Her stationary dribbling stood out amongst the group: low dribbles, good transfers between hands, fast speed, and staying in an athletic stance throughout the drill. Hartland has another promising guard in their backcourt.

Savannah is a versatile wing-guard who specialized in shutting down the opponent's number one scorer as a freshman on varsity last season at Howell. She's going to continue to be an impact player for the Highlanders as a sophomore. Savannah moves well and converts layups with smooth transfers off cuts to the basket using either hand. I made a note of her confidence and consistency as a finisher using her right and left hands multiple times. During 3v2, Savannah drained a corner jumper and added another from the wing. She buried elbow jumpers at a high clip and showed the ability to hit shots from the outside. Savannah dished out accurate passes to cutters and finished first in sprints near the end of [program_tooltip program_id='1870134' first='Michigan' last='Pure'] practice.

Marissa is a mobile forward with an athletic build, length, and versatile skills that are difficult for traditional bigs to match up against. She showed an element to her game that I hadn't seen before by sinking shots from the outside. Marissa swished a three from the slot and drained multiple catch-and-shoot threes from the corner. She scored a tough layup with a high rip move in traffic. Marissa caught passes in the paint with soft hands and converted multiple layups. She buried a long jumper off a filthy between-the-legs crossover step-back dribble and went back to the well for another long jumper off a step-back move. Marissa was active on the boards and dished out an assist after grabbing an offensive rebound. She had a solid practice and will be a key player in the lineup again for Fowlerville this winter.

The Gladiators are adding a talented freshman prospect to their program who looks ready to make an immediate impact. Emily wore number 22 at [program_tooltip program_id='1870134' first='Michigan' last='Pure'] practice, and she matched her number in made threes from the top of the key, sinking 22 during a drill to lead the group. Emily catches passes on the perimeter, ready to shoot. She knocked down triples from the wings and the corners during 5v5. Emily moved her feet well to disrupt shots on defense and maintained good, wide splits, using pocket dribbles, changing speeds, and hitting jumpers accurately off the bounce with balance. She snatched a pass at the free throw line, took one dribble, then dropped in a floater.

You know a serious hooper is in the building when they're repping Gus Macker shorts. Brynn knocked down shots efficiently from the elbows, maintaining excellent balance to catch and shoot accurately off the catch. Brynn catches passes with good hands off basket cuts, makes quick transfers, and finishes layups effectively with both hands without slowing down. She knocks down free throws efficiently from the line, sinking 8 of 10 (80%), and is a threat from beyond the arc. Brynn buried multiple triples from the slot during drills and got to the rim with a burst off the dribble to score layups during the 1v1 segment. She looks like a very skilled member of the Fowlerville backcourt.

Payton has the versatility, skill, length, and instincts needed to play positions 1-3. She was solid across the board during [program_tooltip program_id='1870134' first='Michigan' last='Pure'] practice and looks ready for a breakout sophomore campaign at Fowlerville. Payton demonstrated good vision and poise. She didn't force the issue and dished out bounce passes through small windows for assists. Payton shot the ball efficiently off the catch from the elbows and continued to shoot well from three, sinking triples from the slots and the top of the key in drills. Payton spun and used an effective step-through pivot to score a contested layup against her defender. She finished well off two feet, crashed the offensive glass to score a putback off two feet, and converted a nice stretch layup with her left. Payton moved to open space off the ball, scored with a soft touch around the basket, and was active in the passing lanes on defense. She drilled a wing three and added a smooth wing jumper during 5v5. After a few full-court sprints, Payton ended practice with a made free throw.

Edie is going to be a valuable shot maker for Fowlerville. She knocked down elbow jumpers at a high clip, releasing the ball high and sinking shots with a good arc. Her elbow jumpers looked like they were dropped from the ceiling, barely disturbing the nets as they went straight down the middle of the hoop. Edie swished multiple threes from the slot and finished layups comfortably with her left throughout practice. She anticipated the defensive rotation during 3v3 and dished out a quick bounce pass for an assist before the defender could get into position. Edie made good transfers to convert layups with both hands at the rim. During 5v5, Edie generated steals with her active defense in the gap, scored an offensive rebound putback, knocked down an elbow jumper, and dished out a bounce pass for the assist. She led the team in sprints and turned in a solid all-around performance at [program_tooltip program_id='1870134' first='Michigan' last='Pure'] practice.

Another talented basketball player from the Storm family is coming through the ranks at Howell High. Ashley's length, athleticism, high motor, and aggressiveness stood out during [program_tooltip program_id='1870134' first='Michigan' last='Pure'] practice. Her two-way play during the 1v1 segment was particularly impressive. Ashley moved her feet fast laterally and reached in with cat-like quickness to poke the ball away on defense. She kept good inside positioning and disrupted shots with her length to force misses. Ashley drove downhill with a full head of steam, absorbed contact from a defender, kept her balance, spun, then scored the contested layup. Ashley split two defenders to score a layup in a drill and worked hard as a rebounder for teammates during the shooting segment. Ashley used a variety of footwork on her basket finishes. She scored using an underhanded euro step move and a high-rip off a pro hop, going up off two feet. Ashley stood out during 5v5. She sealed a defender inside with a strong seal, used a drop step pivot, then converted a tough layup with a veer finish. Ashley secured rebounds on both ends and scored a putback. She used smart backdoor cuts to give teammates an open target and kicked the ball out for an assist on a corner three off dribble penetration. Ashley led the team in sprints and competed with an endless supply of energy.

Macie impressed with her play and leadership at [program_tooltip program_id='1870134' first='Michigan' last='Pure'] practice. She shouted verbal encouragement to a teammate during a three-point shooting drill and actively communicated by pointing and talking on the court. Macie switched hands comfortably off the dribble, scored efficiently around the basket with her right and left hands, and converted layups well off two feet. Maci used her length, active hands, and aggressive instincts on the defensive end to cause turnovers. She ripped the ball away, deflected passes, moved quickly laterally to put guards in a box, and was very effective in the run and jump on the perimeter. During the 1v1 segment, Macie didn't get fooled by a shot fake, anticipated the pivot, and slid into position to block the shot. She swatted another shot attempt with a high hand and got by with a burst off the dribble to score a tough veer layup with her left. Macie drove hard into the defense, absorbed the contact, then finished the contested layup off two feet. She continued to excel during 5v5, scoring layups in transition, sinking a smooth wing three, and disrupting passes with her active hands. Maci led the team in free-throw percentage, converting 9 of 10 from the line, and came one shot shy of the group lead with 21 straightaway threes during a drill. She used a nice high-rip eurostep move for a bucket in the basket-finishing drills and turned in a complete performance at practice. Maci made a lasting impression and looks ready for a breakout sophomore campaign at Brighton.

Addison showed finesse around the basket, scoring underhand layups comfortably with her left, while demonstrating excellent touch and control. She's a threat from beyond the arc and knocked down a confident three from the slot. Addison rotated from the help side to block a shot during 3v2 and used her length to force misses, maintaining excellent inside positioning. She made a smooth transfer in stride for a layup during the 3-man weave. Addison recognized the advantage in transition, called out names, and fired up lead passes to open teammates.
