Se'Rae was the tone-setter in Assumption's matchup with Simon Kenton. She put her playmaking ability on full display, distributing the ball well and keeping the offense flowing. Se'Rae was explosive off the bounce, and made a smart basket cut that resulted in a wide-open layup. She also showed excellent awareness in transition, leaking out at the right moments for easy fast-break points. Se'Rae will be the engine that makes the Rockets go this season.

Takenzie is a clever floor general who knows how to control the game. She has a tight handle, facilitates at a high level, and threads the needle as a passer. Takenzie is electric in transition, pushing the pace and showing great speed and decision-making in the open floor. She is also a vocal leader and has a lockdown mentality on defense. Her two-way impact will be vital to the Lady Crimson's success this upcoming season.

Karlea impacted the game in a variety of ways against Bardstown. Her court vision always stands out to me, and how she is able to fit passes into tight windows, putting the ball exactly where her teammates needed it to score. Karlea was on target from distance, mailing in two triples in the game and did a really good job initiating contact at the rim and finishing through it. I also like how tenacious she is on the defensive end. A complete-package guard, she will be the catalyst to Johnson Central's success in the 2026-2027 season.

Makiyia was another player I was glad to see back at the Cardinal Classic. She is deceptively quick off the dribble and did a great job getting into the teeth of the defense, showing excellent touch on a floater and making good use of the backboard on a short jumper. Makiyia was up for the challenge on defense, using active hands to force turnovers, and held her own when switched onto bigger players in the post.

Kentucky's talented Class of 2028 is loaded with quality backcourt players, but Jai has a uniqueness to her game, with her strength, physicality, and ability to impose her will on both ends. She is a bully guard who embraces contact and is extremely difficult to stop once she gets downhill. Jai has magnificent body control and can finish around the basket in different ways. She also shines in transition and is an impressive post scorer for her position.
