High school basketball is back, and I couldn't be more excited. I plan to provide Prep Girls Hoops coverage in every region of Michigan this June. It's like following a treasure map, and I know there will be dozens of hidden gems to discover along the way. The first stop on my coverage journey brought me to Mount Pleasant for Central Michigan University Team Camp. CMU has a rich history of hosting high school girls' team camps. Head Coach Kristin Haynie and the CMU WBB brought it back this summer, and the event was a major success. Teams from all across Michigan came out, and I had the opportunity to see a fantastic variety of prospects and teams throughout the day. Prospects fit for every level of college basketball appeared, and one of the coolest features of camp was that every team had an opportunity to play a game on CMU's main court in the arena. To maximize my coverage and ability to see as many teams as possible, I held down the fort in the SAC. Four adjacent courts are a scout's dream, and I had a fantastic time watching the games.

Elise made a comprehensive impact for Grass Lake on the court at CMU Team Camp. She used quick inside-out dribbles to create space from defenders, drove full speed to the basket, scoring layups, and earned trips the the free throw line. Elise paused on the perimeter, then buried a smooth wing three. She knocked down another triple from the mid-corner, and closed out out hard on a shooter to swat a shot away with ferocity. Elise was active on the ball and in the gap, wreaking havoc on guards with her relentless pressure. She deflected the ball away for a steal and fired a lead pass ahead to a sprinting teammate up the court for an assist. Elise poked the ball out for a steal and finished with ease at the rim with her left. She swiped the ball away for another steal up top and accelerated to score a fast break bucket with her off hand.

Jordan was consistently impactful for West Catholic throughout the day at CMU Team Camp. She demonstrated quickness off the bounce, got to the rim, changed speeds, and kept defenders on their heels with her effective use of pocket dribbles. Jordan was aggressive on the glass, securing multiple offensive rebounds, and dove on the floor to fight for 50/50 balls. She finished well off two feet, made nice overhead entry passes inside, cut backdoor, and kept her poise, not forcing shots. Jordan is a guard that will be a dynamic addition to the West Catholic backcourt this season.

Mallory is a very talented guard prospect with length and skills that translate to the next level. She joined the 2029 rankings in our latest update and was productive for Birmingham Groves at CMU Team Camp. Mallory is a threat from the perimeter and she drained a smooth triple from the slot. She crashed the boards to secure an offensive rebound, got to the third level with a quick crossover, then dumped the ball off to an open teammate in front of the rim for an assist. Mallory attacked straight downhill with a burst off a DHO and finished with a soft touch off the glass. She's an important member of the backcourt.

Mo'Riyah played well for Belleville at CMU Team Camp, impacting the game with her active defense, court vision, dribble penetration, and strong finishing at the rim. She drove hard to the basket for an and-one layup in transition and swiped the ball away to score a speedy fast break bucket. Mo shoveled out an assist to a teammate inside and made a great kick out pass to the corner an assist after attacking down the baseline. She swatted a shot attempt away in the lane and wasn't afraid to pull the trigger from beyond the arc. Mo is a dynamic guard in the backcourt who creates scoring looks for others and herself.

Baylee used a quick double-crossover move to split the gap up top, cut backdoor for a catch and finish off two feet, dished out an assist, and penetrated off the dribble for a sweet scoop finish in traffic. She stretched the floor, knocking down a pair of corner jumpers and a straightaway three with confidence off the catch. Baylee executed a give-and-go to perfection, making a smooth transfer at the rim for two points. She stole an inbound pass, raced up the floor, and earned a trip to the line, sinking her free throw. Baylee handled the ball with poise, made good basket cuts in the half-court, and contributed on both sides of the court for Davison at CMU Team Camp. She can definitely help a program at the next level and is currently undecided on her intended major.

Harlem has athleticism and elite scoring talent that immediately stand out when she steps onto the court. She slashes to the hoop for high-percentage buckets in the paint and is equally dangerous as a perimeter threat. Harlem showed both of those elements to her game at CMU Team Camp. She imposed her will physically by driving through a defender with a strong shoulder, got her spot, then finished off two feet in the paint. She used a shifty inside-out dribble, hesitated for a split second, then slammed into high gear to score a drive-by layup. Harlem got hot from the outside, swishing threes from the corner and up top, while adding an emphatic closeout block on a perimeter jump shot.

Sienna put her talent on full display at CMU Team Camp with Traverse City Central. She started the game with an explosive straight-line drive, then showed off her hops, elevating to finish high at the rim. Sienna used shifty double-crossover dribbles to get by defenders and crashed the boards to score an offensive rebound putback. Her aggressiveness in help and on the ball generated multiple steals. She closed out full speed on a perimeter shooter, wound up, and ferociously swatted the ball out of bounds with a thunderous volleyball spike. Sienna used excellent pivots in the post to score a step-through floater and scored another floater off two feet after using a quick, low, double-crossover dribble to get by her defender. She has good touch around the basket and knows how to use the glass to convert shots from tough angles. Sienna earned many free throws after driving hard to the basket and knocked down shots efficiently from the charity stripe. She's athletic, competitive, has added muscle to her frame, has length at the one spot, and is a dynamic point guard in this class with a high ceiling.

Layla was a playmaker for Belleville at CMU Team Camp. Her length, quickness, and skilled fundamentals at the guard spot created mismatches that the Tigers took advantage of. She pushed the ball with pace in transition and scanned the floor to find open teammates for the assist. Layla split the gap on an assertive drive to the basket and finished with a strong and-one layup. She buried a smooth step back three from the slot and drained another confident triple from the corner. Layla scored in top gear with smooth ball transfers at the rim and caused turnovers with her active pressure on the perimeter.
