Northwood Team Camp is always one of the most enjoyable stops on the summer circuit, and even though I was only in attendance for Sunday, the energy inside the gym was still high as teams closed out a full weekend of competition that ran Friday through Sunday. The atmosphere remains one of the best in the state, especially with the Overtime Tournament adding an extra layer of intensity that keeps players locked in and crowds engaged. By the final day, fatigue and execution under pressure both become factors, and the players who can still perform at a high level tend to separate themselves. The following group made the most of their Sunday performances and helped cap off the weekend on a strong note.

Baylor, a guard for Goodrich, was one of the most dynamic offensive players I watched at Northwood Team Camp. She scored from all three levels, confidently knocking down shots from beyond the arc while also using her strength and determination to attack the basket and finish through contact. Baylor consistently broke down the defense off the dribble, creating quality scoring opportunities not only for herself but also for her teammates with smart reads and timely passes. She also handled pressure well as a ball handler, staying composed when defenses picked her up full court, and she was a solid defender who competed hard on that end of the floor. If Baylor carries this level of play into the high school season, Goodrich will have an excellent chance to make another trip to the Breslin Center.

Lyla, a guard for Howell, had a highly productive showing at Northwood Team Camp and consistently filled up the stat sheet in a variety of ways. She attacked the basket with confidence, showing a nice slash-and-finish game while also stepping out to knock down three-pointers from the perimeter. In transition, she delivered a strong assist after securing a defensive rebound, pushing the pace and finding a teammate in stride for an easy score. She continued to stay aggressive offensively, beating her defender off the dribble for an inside-hand finish at the rim and scoring at a high rate throughout the action. Lyla also made her presence felt on the defensive end, competing hard and helping set the tone for her team. Overall, she was a constant playmaker, scoring the ball and creating opportunities for others all game long.

Julia, who plays for Salem, continued her strong spring shooting stretch with another impressive performance on Sunday at Northwood Team Camp. She was locked in from the perimeter, knocking down at least four three-pointers in one game I watched and consistently finding ways to get her shot off. Julia does an excellent job of moving without the basketball, getting to her spots early, and preparing herself to shoot as soon as the ball arrives. Beyond her perimeter scoring, she also showed she can put the ball on the floor, getting downhill to create for others and delivering a well-timed drive-and-kick pass to open teammates. Her ability to space the floor and make quick, smart reads made her a steady offensive threat throughout the day.

Alejandra, a guard for Fenton, brought a high-energy, two-way impact at Northwood Team Camp with her length, athleticism, and relentless effort. She was active defensively throughout, using quick hands and anticipation to generate multiple steals and disrupt opposing possessions. Offensively, Alejandra played with aggression, attacking the rim hard and embracing contact when driving downhill. Her hustle stood out as well—she wasn't afraid to dive on the floor for loose balls and extend plays for her team. In one sequence, she executed a sharp give-and-go, catching the return pass in traffic and drawing contact to earn a trip to the free-throw line. She also showed strong court vision, consistently delivering quality passes to teammates, and capped off another play by splitting two defenders and finishing with a smooth extended layup.

Savannah, a forward for Okemos, delivered a strong, physical performance at Northwood Team Camp, making her presence felt inside the paint on both ends of the floor. She used her strength effectively to carve out space in the post and consistently finished through contact around the basket. Her toughness stood out in the effort category as well, highlighted by a hustle play where she dove on the floor to secure a loose ball and extend a possession for her team. Defensively, Savannah was active and disruptive, coming up with multiple steals and turning defense into offense. Her energy, physicality, and willingness to do the dirty work made her a valuable interior presence throughout the day.

Evan, a forward for Powers, was a consistent interior presence at Northwood Team Camp, making her impact felt through effort, positioning, and activity on both ends of the floor. She does an excellent job establishing deep post position, sealing her defender early and holding ground to create high-percentage scoring opportunities. When the defense collapsed with double and triple teams, Evan stayed composed and made the right read, kicking the ball out to open shooters for quality looks. Defensively, she was highly active, jumping passing lanes and getting her hands on numerous deflections to disrupt offensive flow. On the glass, she rebounded at a strong rate and also protected the rim with timely shot-blocking, giving her team a steady interior anchor throughout the day.
