Powers Catholic was another team that competed at Michigan Jam Live 3v3 and made it to the Breslin Center last year, and they’re a preseason favorite to make it back. The Chargers brought four prospects to the event who all already have or will have college offers by the time they graduate. Evah was one of the elite forward prospects in the gym, and she delivered a complete performance for Powers Catholic. Her physicality, athleticism, and non-stop motor immediately stand out. Evah attacked downhill with determination, driving confidently off the dribble, and earning many trips to the free-throw line. She secured rebounds, picked off passes from the help side, scored with her right and left, finished strong off two feet, and kicked the ball to open shooters for assists after collapsing the defense. Evah made a complete impact and will create a major matchup problem for opponents again this winter.

Evah is going to be a mismatch all day at Michigan Jam Live 3v3. She sets the physical tone inside with her strength and relentless effort on the glass. I’m expecting to see putbacks, drop step finishes, and a Mikan clinic from the athletic forward. She’s a threat to face-up and attack off the dribble and keeps her eyes up to distribute passes to open teammates on the perimeter. Evah holds her ground, works hard, and moves her feet laterally to stop drives. Her aggressiveness and non-stop motor will force defenses to put her on the line, and she’s going to make entry passes into the post a challenge on the defensive end. Powers Catholic has a clear advantage in the paint.

Evah titled the tables drastically in the Chargers’ favor as soon as she arrived at Northwood Team Camp. She crashed the offensive glass to score a strong and-one finish off two feet and added another and-one during the OT tournament off a seal and counter pivot in the lane. Evah demonstrated her confidence as a face-up driver, ripping by defenders from the perimeter off the bounce, and scoring many layups through contact. Her footwork was a separator on the court as she pivoted multiple times to get the finishing angle needed to convert high percentage looks in traffic. Evah’s mobility gave defenders fits and she cut right to the front of the rim, caught entry passes with good hands, and earned trips to the line. She’s reeled in a few high offers over the past two months and her play at camp validated that interest in full.

Evah, a forward for Powers, was a consistent interior presence at Northwood Team Camp, making her impact felt through effort, positioning, and activity on both ends of the floor. She does an excellent job establishing deep post position, sealing her defender early and holding ground to create high-percentage scoring opportunities. When the defense collapsed with double and triple teams, Evah stayed composed and made the right read, kicking the ball out to open shooters for quality looks. Defensively, she was highly active, jumping passing lanes and getting her hands on numerous deflections to disrupt offensive flow. On the glass, she rebounded at a strong rate and also protected the rim with timely shot-blocking, giving her team a steady interior anchor throughout the day.

Evah looked strong, physical, and aggressive for Powers Catholic at BCAM Reaching Higher. She was a difference maker on the glass and relentless as a face-up driver. Evah pushed the ball up the court with both hands, initiated contact with a strong shoulder into the final defender, maintained her balance, and finished off two feet. She split the gap on an assertive drive for another layup and forced defenders to foul by getting to the rim.

Evah came through in the clutch for Powers Catholic in the second half to help them secure the SVL title. She outworked defenders inside to secure multiple offensive rebounds, scored a putback, and got to the free-throw line. Evah made a massive difference down the stretch by winning one-on-one battles inside with her back to the basket. She sealed defenders with a strong stance, pivoted, and finished off two feet. One of Evah’s best plays was a tough catch and finish from a difficult angle using an effective counter-pivot. Evah cleared out opponents with her strong boxouts and poured in nine points for the Chargers.

Last season Smith made an immediate impact as a freshmen, earning First Team All-Conference honors in the SVL while averaging a double-double in points and rebounds. A strong and solid forward, she plays a crucial role in controlling the glass on both sides of the floor. With a year of experience now under her belt, she’s poised to take on a leadership role and continue elevating her game, making the future bright for Powers.

Evah backed up her high ranking with a strong showing for Michigan Storm Elite 2028 at the Cagers Invitational. Her aggressive instincts, relentless hustle, and athleticism combined to create an obvious advantage on both ends. She outmuscled opponents and wrestled the ball away to secure offensive rebounds. Evah scored put-backs, forced steals with her on-ball pressure, and jumped passing lanes. She pushed the ball with pace in transition to score a layup with her left hand and emphatically blocked a shot with both hands in the paint.

Evah is one of Michigan’s most promising 2028 forward prospects and she provided more proof last week. Evah posted 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists in a 78-43 win versus Grand Blanc and added 22 points and 15 rebounds in a 66-42 win against Bay City Western.

Evah continues to show why she is going to be a force in the SVL this winter, and I enjoyed getting a glimpse of those matchups at the Cage Fall League. Evah sealed off her defender with a strong stance for entry passes, scoring two consecutive layups off two. Evah worked for offensive rebound putbacks off two in the paint, scoring with both hands. She switched up top to keep applying ball pressure to guards on defense and chased them all over the court.
