The evaluation and rankings process was expedited this spring and summer due to the volume of Prep Girls Hoops tournaments in Michigan and mass participation by clubs and teams on our Prep Girls Hoops Circuit. The Prep Girls Hoops College Tour series and Prep Girls Hoops Michigan State Tournament gave us five chances to see prospects compete locally right here in Michigan. Nearly every club with college prospects in Michigan competed in front of our scouts at one Prep Girls Hoops tournament, with many clubs attending more than one tournament. This reality created the perfect environment for us to evaluate prospects from across the state against various levels of competition.

After actively evaluating prospects during the first travel session, we now have 191 players ranked. Height, size, speed, athleticism, fundamental skill development, the position a player is projected to play at the next level, and performance in different competitive settings are all taken into account. Our goal with every class is to accurately group prospects into the correct categories of college potential/projection. By the end of senior year, each class breaks down into clear categories: Power Four/D1+, D1/D2+, D2/NAIA+/D3+/JUCO+, NAIA/D3/JUCO, and NAIA/D3 reserve. As I've written many times, the levels of college basketball intersect, cross, and differ in competitive ability throughout all the divisions. All high school classes do not have the same size, talent, or level of college talent. However, based on my tracking of commitments over the past three years, there appears to be a predictable trend in Michigan.

Taking data from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes into consideration, there could be approximately 410 or more prospects per grade who can play some level of college basketball. There will always be multisport athletes who don't do travel basketball or play in some remote area where we just don't get the opportunity to identify them for our rankings, despite our best efforts. Using averages from the past three classes, my expectations moving forward are that there may be anywhere from 10-20 D1 commits, 20-30 D2 commits, and 125-140 NAIA/D3/JUCO commits in a particular class.
Olivia was a consistent top performer on the PGH Circuit while playing up with Mystics Josh16U. Her quick-twitch change of direction, outstanding court vision, ability to distribute pinpoint passes off dribble penetration, tight handles, defensive prowess, and finishing touch around the rim make her one of the most effective two-way point guards in this class.

Gabby was a beast inside for Buchanan during the high school season and continued to be a Top Performer on the PGH Circuit. She was the best post prospect on the court at the PGH Michigan State Tournament. Gabby isn't a household name yet, but she belongs with the best prospects in Michigan without a doubt. Her height, formidable strength, physicality, footwork, and aggressiveness translate to a high level of college basketball. As soon as college coaches get eyes on Gabby, the high-level offers should start coming in.

Kamara was a Top Performer at the PGH MI College Tour at GVSU. She has length, skill, athleticism, and contributes across many statistics, which makes her a complete contributor on the court. Kamara can shoot the three, slash to the basket, finish in traffic, handle the ball with both hands confidently, and facilitate. She works hard to stop drives and has good instincts on the defensive end.

Zaya came into the AAU session soaring with confidence after a final four postseason run. She clearly belongs with the best prospects in Michigan and has proven it consistently in front of our scouts as a frequent Top Performer. Zaya was an All-Showcase First Team selection at the Michigan State Showcase. She completely dominated in every statistic. Her relentless motor, high-flying athleticism, and dual-threat scoring ability as a shooter and slasher separate her on the court.

If you want to claim the number one spot, you have to demonstrate qualities, skills, confidence, and consistency that translate to the highest levels at your position. That's exactly what Kinley did while playing up for MBA UAA 16U. She was a two-way force for the team, impacting games with her aggressive and disruptive defense. Kinley competed hard from start to finish and checks the boxes: length at the guard spot, active defender, quickness, accuracy beyond the arc, tight handles, ability to penetrate off the dribble, skilled passer, and great finishing touch around the basket. She competed up a grade and was often the best player on the floor, receiving recognition as an All-Tournament First Team selection and frequent honors as a Top Performer. Kinley secured her first D1 offer, and there should be more just around the corner.

Lauren couldn't have had a better opening high school campaign, and she added an exclamation point with Hype Elite on the PGH Circuit. Lauren has length, athleticism, and potential as a guard that translates to a high level of college basketball. She's been a frequent Top Performer, dominating on the glass, finishing strong at the rim, slashing to the hoop for layups, and sinking shots from beyond the arc. Lauren competes with a high motor and hasn't hit her fundamental ceiling yet. She's one of the prospects we've called our shot on early, and her stock is going to boom as college coaches see her more.

Laila became a huge stock riser on our PGH Circuit with [program_tooltip program_id='1267843' first='Lady' last='Shockers'] 15U this spring. Her athleticism, mobility, length, and skill led to dominant performances on the court. Laila has a silky smooth pull-up jumper. She's deadly from three-point range off the catch or the bounce. Laila is physical in the paint, finishes well in traffic, rebounds with determination, protects the basket as a shot blocker, and creates space with her dribble. She belongs with the top prospects and hasn't hit her ceiling yet.

I had the opportunity to see Hadleigh compete at practice, AAU games, and high school summer ball. She left no doubt in my mind that she belongs with the top forward prospects in the state. Hadleigh has the physical strength and mobility for her size to match up with versatile forwards without yielding an inch. She works hard to secure rebounds on both ends of the court, finishes strong off two feet with touch around the basket, and can step outside to knock down threes. Hadleigh has excellent hands and footwork inside. She runs the floor well to give guards a scoring option in transition, protects the rim as a shot-blocker, and has great passing instincts.
