North Dakota Rankings Release: 2029 Stock Risers

I was super impressed with what I saw out of Macey this summer. I think she has a chance to become a big-time recruit in the state. She is a long 5'9 guard who can play either the 1 or the 2. She has impressive vision with her passing, particularly in transition. She is able to pursue rebounds herself and push the ball up the floor and find her open teammates. She is an excellent outside shooter, something D2's and D1's need in their guards. She plays the 2 and stands at an impressive 6'1. She is a good runner and jumper, making her an even more impressive recruit. She is a natural athlete on the floor and has potential to be a really good defender. Her length and athletic ability allow her to defend inside near the basket and outside near the perimeter. She can make passing difficult with her length and is athletic enough to travel on air-time back to her girl on skip-passes. Vanessa has a smooth shot and was able to finish last season with a respectable percentage from deep. They play in a very tough Region 1 and will need multiple girls to take strides next season if they are going to get to the state tournament. Hanson has all of the tools to help lead them to a successful season next year. She is a fantastic athlete with superior speed and quickness. She has a really impressive first step that allows her blow by defenders when attacking the basket. Hanson is a good ball-handler and has good vision when making passes to teammates. I would say she is one of the fastest players in the 2029 class. Her quickness up the floor is the first thing people will notice when they watch her play. She is lightning fast and is really hard to stop going downhill to the basket. She is taller than she looks on film and looks like she has room grow. She will be a player a lot of college coaches will be interested in if she can continue to grow and get stronger. She earned herself spot minutes on the varsity last season for Grafton. I anticipate her making her way into the starting lineup in 2026-2027. She will let Region 1 know that there is another Demers in town that they will have to deal with. She is physically strong and plays with great effort around the basket. I like how she is able to move her feet defensively and defend without fouling. She can catch passes around the rim and put the ball in the hoop with a soft touch. I bet she grew 3-4 inches in that time frame and looked like a completely different player. She had to make adjustments to how she moved and looked like she was scratching the surface of her athletic potential at the end of last season. She runs super well and looks to be an above average jumper. They will be looking for players to step up and fill multiple roles. Laqua is someone who I think will be stepping into a much bigger role next year. She is a solid 6' and a very physically strong player. It is my understanding that she only began playing basketball a handful of years ago.
