On Sunday, the Carolinas will have our turn at the mic.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Rock Hill Sports and Events Center will once again be where the festivities will emanate from as it will welcome plenty of the premier freshmen from both South and North Carolina.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As this year's Freshman Showcase is once again taking place on the South Carolina side of the state line, one can expect for the Palmetto State to be well-represented. Up to this point, both of Alexander's seasons with Westwood were when the Redhawks played as a 5A Division 2 team. Westwood is moving back to the 4A ranks beginning with its 2026-27 campaign. With the 2026 travel season in the rear-view mirror with [program_tooltip program_id='713550' first='Palmetto' last='76ers'], Alexander looks to build on her first two seasons at Westwood. Her career achievements as a middle schooler included reaching the 150-point plateau. During the spring and summer months of AAU ball, Glenn ran with FBC Youngunz 14U which played on the Under Armour circuit. Earlier this month, Glenn received her first collegiate offer. It was of the in-state variety courtesy of Lander. For her high school career, she is set to join a 4A Fountain Inn team that concluded its 2025-26 season with a 15-12 record. She was the only player from the middle school ranks that was on last season's roster and her travel career has included a stint with Team Curry. Prior to wearing Mavericks colors, Drummond played her middle school ball at nearby Mauldin MS. Throughout her athletic career, she has also played softball in addition to basketball and joined [program_tooltip program_id='713672' first='Palmetto' last='Pressure'] back in February. Last season's Squires finished undefeated en route to a championship. Prior to arriving in South Carolina, McElveen played at Heritage Academy and ran with Fly Girls during her spring and summer months of travel basketball. She is a multi-sport athlete who also plays flag football in addition to what she is getting accomplished on the basketball court. Volleyball is another sport she plays. Ferguson has played her grassroots basketball with [program_tooltip program_id='1230024' first='Lady' last='Angels'] and recently wrapped up a solid middle school career at Boiling Springs MS. Fulton played up in class this past grassroots season with AEBL 15U EYBL and already has a state championship on her resume from her days at 5A Blythewood. She has established herself as one of the premier young 3-point shooters in the Palmetto State. Fulton competed in 29 contests last season with coach Emily McElveen's Bengals while averaging 9.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest. Nunez is that immediate future at an Eau Claire program that will drop in classification from 2A to 1A once the 2026-27 season commences. She competed in all 21 of the Shamrocks' games last season. Nunez averaged 13.2 points, 3.4 steals and 3.1 rebounds per contest. Nunez played up in class over the spring and summer with [program_tooltip program_id='713672' first='Palmetto' last='Pressure'] 15U on the NE2K circuit and more than displayed that she belongs on the same court against more experienced competition. She has more experience than the average freshman considering she already has two solid seasons of high school varsity basketball on her resume. Gray competed in 24 games last season for an A.C. Flora team that finished 16-9 last season. Jackson has maintained an active athletic schedule throughout the years as she has also competed in volleyball, flag football and as a sprinter. She has competed with one of North Carolina's premier travel teams in Charlotte Dream Elite and is due for a breakout freshman campaign at 5A Rock Hill. Jackson played in 26 of coach Kenny Orr's Bearcats' 27 games last season – the team went a stellar 18-9. She previously attended Dutchman Creek MS. A product of a [program_tooltip program_id='988463' first='Mosch' last='Ball'] team that won a 17U championship game at Run 4 Roses in Louisville – and she was a key catalyst in that contest by virtue of an 18-point performance. Johnson competed in all 22 games last season with the Bengals and averaged 6.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
