The evaluation and rankings process was expedited this spring and summer due to the volume of Prep Girls Hoops tournaments in Michigan and mass participation by clubs and teams on our Prep Girls Hoops Circuit. The Prep Girls Hoops College Tour series and Prep Girls Hoops Michigan State Tournament gave us five chances to see prospects compete locally right here in Michigan. Nearly every club with college prospects in Michigan competed in front of our scouts at one Prep Girls Hoops tournament, with many clubs attending more than one tournament. This reality created the perfect environment for us to evaluate prospects from across the state against various levels of competition. We've continued to evaluate prospects at elite camps, individual showcases, and fall leagues throughout August, September, and now into October. Our Freshman Showcase hit a new PR with 90+ participants, while The Expo also hit new highs for attendance with 100+ registrations.

After actively evaluating the 2029 prospects, we now have 310 players ranked and on the Watch List. Height, size, speed, athleticism, fundamental skill development, the position a player is projected to play at the next level, and performance in different competitive settings are all taken into account. Our goal with every class is to accurately group prospects into the correct categories of college potential/projection. By the end of senior year, each class breaks down into clear categories: Power Four/D1+, D1/D2+, D2/NAIA+/D3+/JUCO+, NAIA/D3/JUCO, and NAIA/D3 reserve. As I've written many times, the levels of college basketball intersect, cross, and differ in competitive ability throughout all the divisions. All high school classes do not have the same size, talent, or level of college talent. However, based on my tracking of commitments over the past three years, there appears to be a predictable trend in Michigan.

Taking data from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes into consideration, there could be approximately 410 or more prospects per grade who can play some level of college basketball. Some multisport athletes don't play travel basketball or play in remote areas where we don't get the opportunity to identify them for our rankings, despite our best efforts. Based on averages from the past three classes, I predict anywhere from 10-20 D1 commits, 20-30 D2 commits, and 125-140 NAIA/D3/JUCO commits in a particular class.
Elynne was one of my favorite newcomers to watch at the PGH Michigan Expo. Her length/athleticism as a guard, aggressiveness, slashing to the hoop, uptempo style in transition, and ability to finish with strength in traffic were separators on the court. A confident three-level scorer, facilitator, and determined rebounder, Elynne shot up into our top 50 and looks ready for a monster sophomore campaign at Niles.

Vivian always had a high ceiling as a guard with her length and athleticism, but she's really starting to fill out her frame and move towards her potential, demonstrating clear fundamental growth and development. She knocks down threes, sprints the floor in a higher gear, uses her length to disrupt passing lanes, and blocks shots. Vivian has good ball-handling control and uses a variety of crossovers to attack and penetrate; she has the strength and finesse to finish in traffic. She's going to be a dynamic duo with older sister Valeria, and I'm expecting a huge sophomore season at Armada.

Presley is consistent, and she's established herself as one of the better shooting guards in this class. Great instincts, makes smart decisions with the ball in her hands, efficient and accurate from beyond the arc, solid length/athleticism, and is active/disruptive on the defensive end. Presley stepped into a key role as a freshman for Powers Catholic and helped the Chargers make a push to the State Semifinals. She'll take on a larger role for Powers Catholic as a sophomore and looks ready to fill those shoes and then some.

Cevanna made headlines with her monster performance at the Mitten Summer Showdown. Her athleticism, explosiveness, quick first step, defensive pressure, length, and ability to hit shots from beyond the arc impressed Danyle. Cevanna's performance also resulted in her first D2 offer from Wayne State. She delivered a Top Performer effort at The Expo, demonstrating the qualities of a higher-level guard. Her shifty handles, ability to penetrate off the dribble, facilitating instincts, and two-way impact stood out at the event. Cevanna hasn't hit her ceiling yet and is another very talented college prospect in the Belleville program to have on your radar.

Sydney was a prospect who separated herself as an elite guard in this class at the PGH Michigan Expo. Good length, athleticism, advanced fundamental skills, pinpoint accuracy from three-point range, impactful play on both ends of the court, excellent finishing touch in traffic, and sharp instincts resulted in an All-Showcase Second Team selection. Detroit Country Day has a roster stacked with next-level talent, and Sydney looks ready for a breakout sophomore campaign.

Addison delivered a breakout performance for [program_tooltip program_id='1870134' first='Michigan' last='Pure'] at the PGH Michigan State Tournament in March. She continued to stand out in front of our scouts at team and travel events throughout June and July, receiving multiple write-ups as a result. Under the Spotlight at the PGH Michigan Expo, Addison's impressive performance resulted in an All-Showcase Second Team selection and convinced us that she belongs in the top 50. She played like a scholarship was on the line, competing with a ruthless determination and aggressive two-way effort that separated her on the court. Addison demonstrated versatility with her ability to penetrate off the dribble with a burst and sink shots from three-point distance. Shot-blocking inside and on the perimeter, disruptive defensive pressure, persistent rebounding, and a complete performance turned the heads of scouts and coaches at the event. She possesses qualities comparable to very high talent at her position and is a prospect who has the potential to keep climbing the charts. Addison will be an exciting member of the Howell backcourt to watch this season and looks poised for a big sophomore campaign.
