CAGE Fall League Recap: Week One

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fall Leagues are in full swing across the state and I found myself observing games this past Sunday at the Cage Fieldhouse in Swartz Creek. Ava combined a quick crossover dribble series to blow by her defender and draw a foul, buried both free throws. Ava cut hard to the basket off the ball and caused steals with her quick lateral defense. Evah sealed off her defender with a strong stance for entry passes, scoring two consecutive layups off two. Evah worked for offensive rebound putbacks off two in the paint, scoring with both hands. Allie led a gritty effort for her team of 5 at the Cage Fall League. Her quick twitch, shifty handles, and toughness finishing drives grabbed my attention. Allie used an inside drop step to score with her right at the rim, split defenders with a low crossover kill dribble for a layup, and converted a spin and-one off two feet. Savannah pushed the ball with her dribble and scored a runner using a high-rip move. She hit multiple turnaround floaters off two in the paint and aggressively protected the rim as a shot-blocker. She attacked hard through defenders using her dribble to convert a tough left layup off two feet and drilled a smooth straightway 3 off the dribble.
