Dekara Merthie was impressive this summer at the High Achool Live period in Gainesville. Fast forward to the high school season and not many prospects are torching the nets in the manner that Merthie is. Halfway through the season and the Junior guard is averaging 24.1 points per game, has knocked down 52 threes and shooting the three ball at an effective rate of 46 threes. The exciting guard had one game with 9 threes. Last summer at the FABC showcase, no one was more impressive at the showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='751625' first='Terrell' last='McCoy'] was very good as a sophomore. Now in her junior season, the power forward has been dominant and nearly unstoppable in the paint. McCoy plays physical on the inside, but she can play on the outside in pick and roll. McCoy is a high IQ power forward who makes timely cuts to the rim. She also does a good job of passing out to a shooter or other forward when she is double teamed. McCoy rebounds with a lot of authority and averages nearly 8 rebounds per game. She is a double-double threat every time she steps on the basketball court.

[player_tooltip player_id='470461' first='Kamie' last='Ellis'] is another stock riser in the latest 2026 rankings. Ellis can impact the game in many ways. She is a knock down three point shooter, a get to the rim specialist, a playmaker for teammates, and a lock-down defender. Ellis is definitely one of the top juniors in the State and her continuing rise to the top of the rankings is no accident.

[player_tooltip player_id='514521' first='Brie' last='McCoy'] has been the “real McCoy” this basketball season, and a huge stock riser in the 2026 class. McCoy has continued to add versatility to her game, and with growth in her game comes a rise up the rankings. McCoy has always played on the blocks and just shot a powerful 5 footer off the glass with physical contact from the opponent. This season, McCoy has expanded the offensive game that now extends out to the three point line. McCoy has improved the jump shot to the point where she is efficient and solid in the midrange area. McCoy has even shown the ability to shoot from behind the arc in occasion. McCoy is averaging a double double and has taken her rebounding efforts to a new level. Any rebound that comes near her belongs to her. As McCoy's teammates put it, the power forward has been “uncontainable” this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='249395' first='Jazlyn' last='Bowman'] shot the lights out at the last Florida PGH Expo and is starting to get comfortable in her new environment. Bowman has the ability to take over a game with her deadly three point game and ability to get to the rim as well. The lefty is an efficient shooter who can score at all three levels on the floor. Her consistency and being a multi-level scoring threat has led her to be one of the top stock risers in the State.

[player_tooltip player_id='892014' first='Kelsey' last='Sharpe'] has become one of the biggest stock risers in the 2026 class. Sharpe is a standout on offense, defense, and in the transition game. Sharpe is one of the most athletic players in her class, and she combines athleticism, speed, and a high basketball IQ. She can really put the ball in the basket and her ability to score in multiple ways is special. As stated, the athletic Sharpe is a defensive standout. Her ability to move laterally, backwards, and forwards is just on a different level than most players. Her speed and quickness stands out at all times on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='864101' first='Jayda' last='Parker'] is one of the most versatile “bigs” in the 2026 class. Parker is long and athletic and can play the center position and both forward positions. Parker can play in the post, and is also comfortable on the wing and facing the basket. Parker can shoot the midrange shot and can also shoot the three on occasion. She is very good in transition and has the ability to grab the rebound and initiate the fast break. Numerous times, Parker has grabbed the rebound and taken it coast to coast for the layup.

[player_tooltip player_id='933334' first='Shelby' last='Gaines'] has taken her game to a new level and that was apparent as early as the most recent PGH Expo. Gaines walked away from that event as a recognized playmaker and game change. She has continued her stellar play throughout this high school season. Gains currently is averaging nearly 16 points and 9 rebounds per game . She can score from multiple areas on the court, she excels in the transition game, and she is committed to making an impact on the defensive side of the ball. Her ability to defend the best players is a testament to her abilities. Her all around game and commitment to both sides of the ball is the reason for her ascension up the 2026 ranking ladder.
