Taryn anchored the interior for Mystics 15U P24, and her play ultimately led to a 15U Diamond Championship. Danyle’s notes from the game included: “dominating on the boards, seals defender-holds and finishes with both hands with great footwork, rim runner, many blocks.” Taryn scored through contact, finished well with both hands, and battled for inside positioning all weekend, leading to high percentage layups. She gets to her spots, holds her ground on both ends, and disrupts bigs well without fouling. Taryn received recognition as a Diamond Championship Game Co-MVP.

Michigan’s top-ranked forward prospect in the 2029 class played like it against imposing physicality and length in the post. Taryn worked hard for inside positioning, scored many offensive rebound putbacks, made great adjustments to catch entry passes, and finished strong through contact. Taryn was a human flyswatter in the paint. She blocked many layup attempts and closed out hard on the perimeter for another swat. Taryn pinned defenders with her strong seals and finished contested layups effectively with her right and left hands off two feet. She forced defenders to put her on the foul line and converted free throws efficiently. Taryn was a huge difference maker for Mystics 15U P24 during the PGH MI College Tour at Northwood.

Taryn couldn’t have had a better freshman year at Beaverton. Her dominance resulted in great team and individual success. She averaged 21.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 71% from the line. Taryn’s a polished interior scorer with fantastic footwork and touch around the basket. She can step outside to hit shots from the perimeter, which adds to her ceiling as a college forward. Taryn has a high IQ on the defensive end and protects the rim. She won Prep Girls Hoops Freshman Player of the Year and will be the top forward in the class heading into the AAU season.

Taryn has wasted no time making her presence felt for Beaverton, emerging as a powerful force in the middle despite being just a freshman. She’s already producing at a high level, routinely posting double-digit performances while swatting away more than three shots per game, giving her team a major edge on both ends of the floor. Her impact in the paint has helped propel Beaverton to an impressive 8–0 start, as she controls the glass, alters shots, and finishes efficiently around the rim. With her size, timing, and rapidly developing skill set, Taryn is quickly establishing herself as a name to watch and a prospect that should only continue to rise in the coming years.

After dominant showings for Beaverton over the summer and a PGH Freshman Showcase MVP performance in August, Taryn earned the #3 spot in our first 2029 ranking release. Her immediate impact on the court for the Beavers in week one comes as no surprise to us. Taryn’s 27 points (56% FG%, 75% FT%), seven rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks during a 67-57 win at #5 Sacred Heart were crucial in a statement win. She followed with a double-double: 28 points (57% FG%), 13 rebounds, four steals, four blocks, and one assist in a 64-34 home win vs. Midland Bullock Creek. Taryn contributed in every category with 55 points, 20 rebounds, seven steals, six assists, and six blocks in two wins for the Beavers.

Taryn’s first varsity game couldn’t have gone much better. She contributed in every statistical category and helped the Beavers earn a statement win. Taryn led the team with 27 points, while adding seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals. She pinned defenders with strong seals and finished effectively around the basket. Taryn pivoted to create space to score with a soft baby hook, drained a smooth elbow jumper, and powered through contact for a strong and-one layup with her left off two feet. Taryn walled up to force missed shots, picked off passes, and launched outlet passes up the court to create transition scoring. In crunch time, Taryn came up big. She hustled to save a loose ball going out, creating a key turnover, converted two free throws, and scored a powerful left-handed layup off a spin move. Taryn tacked on the free throw to complete the three-point play. She finished the game 9 of 13 from the charity stripe.

Taryn has the height, strength, instincts, and mobility to be a highly recruited college forward. She’s been dominant during observations of AAU, high school, and individual events leading up to our first rankings release. Taryn has fantastic footwork in the paint and touch around the basket. She’s gaining confidence as a shooter and is a formidable shot-blocker. Taryn competes hard and is a tough rebounder. She earned All-Showcase First Team and MVP honors at the Freshman Showcase. Taryn’s proven time and again that she’s a top front-court prospect in this class. She complements Beaverton’s guards perfectly and is a huge reason why they could make a deep playoff run this season.

Taryn flexed her muscles at the Freshman Showcase and had a dominant day in the gym. She started fast in 3v3, sealing defenders to score many layups off one and two feet. Taryn forced misses around the basket with her positioning and length, adding a strong and-one finish for good measure. She continued to impress during 5v5 games. Taryn drained a deep corner jumper, deflected entry passes, and protected the rim with her shot-blocking, including a great block rotating over from helpside. Taryn relentlessly sealed defenders inside and scored several layups around the basket with both hands. One of her best moves was a middle-fake, pivot with a soft baby hook finish over her defender. Taryn muscled her way into position to secure and score multiple offensive rebound put-backs. She had multiple blocks in every game, including two wall-up swats with textbook defensive positioning. Taryn’s guards did an outstanding job of getting her the ball inside, and she made defenses pay. Taryn earned recognition as a Top Performer, All-Showcase First Team, and is my 2025 Freshman Showcase MVP selection.

Taryn was expected to be one of the best posts in the gym, and she did not disappoint, delivering a memorable performance at The Freshman Showcase. During 3v3, Taryn finished shots around the rim at will and physically dominated opponents on the glass. That continued with Team 4 during the 5v5 games. Taryn swatted shots away and deflected entry passes on the defensive end. She secured many rebounds on both ends of the court, presented a target for entry passes, and used excellent footwork to score contested shots in the paint. Taryn finished many offensive rebound put-backs and was chosen as my Freshman Showcase MVP.

Taryn had another impressive day for Beaverton, this time at the Big North Shootout. She swatted away multiple shots in the paint, disrupted passing lanes with her active arms, and asserted herself in the paint on the offensive end. Taryn scored an old-fashioned three-point play when she finished through contact and tacked on the free throw. Taryn caught a lob pass with soft hands for a layup and added another with her left hand off two feet. She is one of the premier post prospects attending the PGH Freshman Showcase in August.
