Rankings Analysis: 2027 Small Forwards in North Carolina

The North Carolina rankings came out last week. Now it is time to do an analysis breakdown by position of the top girls that were ranked.    Unfortunately, had a season ending shoulder injury at the beginning of the season. Will not do an analysis at this time.       As skilled and versatile as they come. Khloe can do a little bit of everything on the court. Her true position is a small forward, but she can literally play anywhere on the court. She has nice handles and can make plays off the dribble to create her own shot. She can step beyond the arc and knock down shots. She can post up in the paint and convert up and under moves into points.     It will be hard to find anyone that competes harder than Morgan. Her tenacity and defensive prowess give her an edge. She is tough and competes at a high level the entire time she is on the court. She has a motor that is unmatched. Knox is also a beast on the boards and attacking downhill with the ball in her hands. She is strong enough to make three point plays the old-fashioned way.     A true competitor on the court. She plays both sides of the ball at a high level. She applies a lot of pressure on the opposing team which causes them to turn the ball over. Her effort on loose balls and deflections diving all over the court normally leads into a steal for Ashlyn and transition points for her or her team. She is a solid all-around player on offense being able to score around the rim or stepping back behind the three-point line and knocking down triples.     A strong powerful forward that can slash through the paint to score. Amya does a good job of using her strength to make power slide moves to the basket and can even post up when necessary. She runs the floor well for transition buckets. Harrington is a fierce competitor on the boards as well.     A shifty guard with the ball in her hands. She does a great job of attacking from the perimeter using ball fakes, good footwork and explosiveness to get past the defense. If she misses a shot she is the first one to her offensive rebound for a quick putback off the glass. Defensively, she is solid and can defend multiple positions.     Addison has high IQ to her game. She knows where to be on the defensive end of the ball whether it is one pass away or in help side ready to help her teammates. Offensively, she can set up the offense and guide people to the right places on the court. She finishes well around the rim shooting fifty percent from the field and has a nose for the ball averaging five rebounds per game.     An aggressive player that does not mind doing a lot of the dirty work to get her points. She cleans up the glass and her offensive putbacks lead to buckets. She runs the floor hard which also leads to transition baskets. She also uses her strength to get to the rim and gets to the free throw line often.     Izzy is a forward that plays mostly around the rim. Her true position may be more of a Power Forward. She has back to basket moves and does a good job of showing ball fakes to get her defenders off their feet. She shoots an incredible field goal percentage making every 8 out of 10 shots she attempts.     A true SF/PF who has a nice touch to be able to knock down midrange shots and stretch the floor by being able to hit three pointers. Finley also is strong enough to play in the paint area and make one on one moves on smaller defenders. A dominant force on the boards on both ends. Runs the floor well and competes at a high level.     Marissa has a nice mid-range game that allows her to do different things and display a variety of skills. She can shoot the pull up jumper, floater or head fake and get to the rim in one dribble from the high post area. She is extremely agile and moves well on the court that allows her to defend and rebound at a high level. She has also showed she can block shots on defense averaging almost two per game.     This is a kid that definitely needs to be ranked amongst the top performers. She has had a breakout year for Wakefield and is getting plenty of college coaches' attention. Averaging 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. She plays like a honey badger on defense and makes it tough for anyone to get around her and score. She does an excellent job of anticipating passes and getting steals. She is a three-level scorer that can get to rim with force, pull up with finesse and step back beyond the arc and knock down a triple.
