It's the home stretch for district play in Class 6A. Here's a current picture of the top teams in the Class. It's a fun year in the class, as while there's a clear top team. There's strong parity throughout the class, as the teams jockey for position.

Norman North 10-3

Piedmont 11-6

Sapulpa 12-4

10. Jenks 10-6

Jenks gets the nod for the 10th spot as despite some tough losses, they notched impressive wins. Especially recently, as this month they've beat Sapulpa and Muskogee. The Muskogee win is a season a split in a pivotal match up for playoff seeding. The Trojans might be a year way from peaking, as they're led by a strong junior class. But the potential is there for the future to be now.

9. Muskogee 14-5

One of the more up and down teams in the state. They've lost to Class 3A Alva and were dismantled by Mustang in a two day stretch. Then a few days later bounced back to challenge PCN, forcing over time. A recent loss to Jenks opens the door for a competitive race for second place in District 3. It's an opportunity Muskogee should grab, as they have some of the best top end talent in Oklahoma with the Holmes sisters and junior [player_tooltip player_id='751190' first='Kashae' last='Brown']. But the Lady Roughers will need to continue to improve their supporting cast around their big three.

8. Mustang 10-5

The Lady Broncos were trending up till a pair of losses last week, where they were missing senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='396323' first='Mya' last='Alston'] due to illness. And while Westmoore did earn the season sweep last week, Mustang's 12 point win over Choctaw does have the door wide open in Class 6A District 1. Win out and last year's Class 6A runner ups might just end up with another plaque for their trophy case. Freshmen [player_tooltip player_id='1266518' first='Ajanae' last='Lumpkin'] and [player_tooltip player_id='992473' first='Sionna' last='Williams'] are coming along strong, and will be key to their District and Playoff pushes.

7. Westmoore 13-3

Choctaw appears to be Westmoore's bogey team as otherwise they have handled Oklahoma competition. The Jaguars are led by [player_tooltip player_id='572451' first='Kyiah' last='Prestridge']. The Arkansas signee has always been a bucket getter as a match up nightmare. While this season she's playing with senior urgency as a defender and rebounder. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1488845' first='Nyla' last='Abdullah'] has also stepped up for the Lady Jaguars, providing an emotional and scoring spark next to Prestridge. They'll have a chance to avenge their two losses to Choctaw, with a February 17th match up to close out the regular season. Where the District 1 title could be on the line.

6. Choctaw 14-4

The Yellowjackets have one of the flashiest guards in the state with the electric [player_tooltip player_id='576992' first='Aliyah' last='Duval']. Which makes for an odd juxtaposition, as they often play like a "no frills, get it done" balanced team. Duval stirs the drink of their balanced attack. Which is filled with shooters, forwards and wings who are willing to battle downlow. Along with tough defensive minded guards that provide pressure. It's shockingly been a few years since Choctaw has made the State Tournament, but they should reach State for the first time since 2022.

5. Edmond North 14-2

The hard nosed Lady Huskies are led by senior [player_tooltip player_id='525640' first='Grace' last='Jackson']. She's always been a grinder of a guard for them. But this year has seen her take her shooting and scoring to new heights. A pair of in season tournament losses are the only blemishes for the Lady Huskies. And they still haven't allowed a team to break 50 points since their 65-51 season opener win over Deer Creek.

4. Owasso 13-4

The Rams have found their stride in January, with State Tournament quality wins over Edmond North and Union. The latter has made it a three way race for the two Regional host spots in district 4. Their emergence has come with junior star Madi Hill finding her stride, including a 30 and 10 performance last night against Sand Springs. Hill isn't alone in Lady Rams elevating their play. As sophomore wing [player_tooltip player_id='992446' first='Anna' last='Sudbeck'] is scoring the ball with high efficiency, while also helping out on the glass and defensively. The stage is now set for a Friday trip to play Bixby.

3. Bixby 12-4

There's an outstanding senior class at Bixby, with players poised for next level success. Along with sharpshooting juniors [player_tooltip player_id='606268' first='Kourtney' last='Wright'] and [player_tooltip player_id='751188' first='Hallie' last='Jewell']. But even with the upperclassmen leading the way, heady sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='992456' first='Kerrington' last='Campbell'] has made her mark with her point guard skills. And a willingness to do everything on the court, which makes her impact bigger than her height. Upcoming games with Owasso and Union, will give the Lady Spartans the opportunity to win District 4.

2. Union 13-4

One of the top defensive teams in the state, and also one of the deepest. Their regular season will come down to a 5 day stretch in February when they battle Bixby and Union. Those two games will likely decide the seeding for District 4. While the Lady Redhawks are loaded with senior and junior standouts, the continually evolution of the sophomore Davis Twins will likely be key to wins in those games. And playoff victories.

1. Putnam City North 17-1

The Lady Panthers' national schedule is finished and now they turn their attention to repeating in Oklahoma. Since an overtime challenge by Muskogee, they've won by 20 points or more in all their district games. Including a 29 point win over Jenks. They're really good. They're deep. [player_tooltip player_id='572453' first='Jayla' last='Constant'] and [player_tooltip player_id='578034' first='Da'Nae' last='Jefferson'] are two of the best scorers in the state, who can carve up any team in Oklahoma. The target will be on their back come playoff team, and they feel like a team that will relish any and all challenges.
