For several years in the spring and summer, John has simply dropped his brand in any state and invites teams near and far no matter the shoe brand affiliation. Also, he schedules and finds facilities to accommodate oh say 300 plus teams in a three-day weekend. Pre COVID-19 John has expanded his vision this spring and summer he has and put together the Inside Exposure league with regular season play during the first two stops of the traditional live period and ending with a bracket-style tournament and crown a champion in each age group at summer’s end. Not only do I think this is smart I thought this was brilliant not knowing the ramifications of a lingering COVID-19 pandemic I also believe our Virginia club teams will agree as well because we were well represented in this field. The first leg of the season got kicked off and these Virginia players did not disappoint under the bright lights!
Sydney Turner 5’8 W 2023 Cap City Ballers
Only 5’8 but this kid very physical. She’s a do it all player that is very good in all phases of the game. Undersized as a wing but her strength makes up for the lack of size. She lead her team in scoring multiple times including a 22 point game.
Jada Cook 5’9 CG 2024 Carolina Elite Kent
I first saw her last summer with Assist Students Athletes play against older players an from the look of things her game is still growing! A very skilled player who is very quick with the ball. For smaller frame guard she plays down hill and is hard to stop. Consistent scoring over the weekend including 20 & 14 point games.
Sierra Johnson Sierra Johnson 5'9" | CG TPLS Christian Academy | 2022 State VA 5’9 CG 2022 VA Havoc
In her first AAU game in a two years, she came right out the gate with 17 points. Hit a big three in transition to send her team into overtime. Even as a true shooting guard she is the floor leader. Took over PG duties when other teams stepped up the defensive pressure. Is great at using her physical frame versus smaller guards.
Zoli Khalil Zoli Khalil 6'0" | SF Spottswood | 2023 State VA 6’0 W 2023 Elevate Elite 3SSB
Very consistent impressive weekend she’s starting to look like the glue that keeps this team rolling. Slender frame but she does not get push around a solid defender and her stock may continue to rise. Just recently picked up an offer from the Naval Academy.
Jeni Levine 5’6 CG 2022 Team Loaded Premier
Quick shifty guard that has a high motor and a quick release. Physically not that big but she plays mush bigger than her frame. Not afraid to guard the opposing guards 94 feet with high energy to create turnovers. A player that cannot get rattled off to a good start just recently picked up an offer from Alderson Broaddus.
Grace Pack Grace Pack 6'3" | PF TPLS Christian Academy | 2022 State VA 6’3 post Lady Phoenix United Rudd
Another Virginia kid who’s made the jump out of state playing with Delaney Rudd head coach of a USA top 25 high school program. You can call her a post but she’s really a stretch four. Grace is deadly from three point range! It’s hard to believe a power forward can shoot it efficiently like that from 3. Good post player that can finish with both hand it’s a reason she has 8 D1 offers!
Logan Nuckols 5’6 PG 2022 Cap City Ballers
Some cases in AAU points are overrated when I saw her play it was just that. Logan control the whole game! The other team though they could speed her because she’s not physically imposing but they were wrong. Very twitchy and fast with the ball your not going to take the ball away from her. Best player in that program committed to play for Campbell.
Aliyah Elliott Aliyah Elliott 5'8" | CG LC Bird | 2024 State VA 5’8 CG 2024 VA Havoc
When you first look at her its hard to believe she’s only a freshman! Even at 5’8 she’s a physical nightmare for defenders. Quick and fast off the dribble, high defensive pressure. When she gets down hill to the basket it over! She was one of the reasons Va Havoc had a great weekend!
Sadie Shores Sadie Shores 5'10" | CG Woodgrove HS | 2024 State VA 5’10 SG Elevate Elite 16U Gold
Sadie is another 24 prospect who’s stock could be on the rise with a young group players on the Elevate Elite 16U Gold team. A hard nose SG who can do it all on the floor with good size. This weekend she averaged 11 points per game against some tough competition at the Insider Exposure Showcase.
Alyssa Ervin 5’8 PG 2024 Virginia Outlaws
I never saw or heard of this kid before but she was productive all weekend. With her long arms and good wingspan she is a very crafty player. Sneaky athletic she plays with good timing and a high IQ. It’s a smaller AAU organization but hope to see some more of her!
