Continue ReadingLast Wednesday we released the updated rankings for the Class of 2025. We did not expand the list at all, so there is still a Top-75 and a watch list of another 100 prospects, so a total of 175 members of the Class of 2025 are listed on Prep Girls Hoops Indiana. This quarter is more of a maintenance update heading into the high school season, but we will expand the list once again around Christmas. Below, I wanted to highlight all of the 2-guards/off-guards/shooting guards in the class who we currently have listed, as well as highlight a handful of ladies who stood out throughout the Summer and early Fall.

SUMMER/FALL STOCK-RISERS & ANY NEWCOMERS:

– Lauren has quickly earned the reputation amongst small colleges of being one of the better pure shooters in this 2025 class. When she is able to get her feet set, her shoulders square, and has rhythm, it is going in, plus she has a quick release. She is a long, wiry, fluid athlete who can handle the ball a little as well. She is quick off the dribble and can attack, but gaining strength will definitely help her as a multilevel scorer long-term.

– Jacklynn looked much stronger, she played much stronger, and she played with a great deal of confidence this Summer. She has always been a really nice, long, fluidly athletic guard. She uses her length extremely well defensively to get her hands in passing lanes and cause a lot of steals/deflections. She can get to the rim and finish, plus she has a solid jumper when in rhythm. I also like her ability to occasional initiate the offense.

– I realize Meredith is at the top of this position group, but after April she was consistently one of the best players in Indiana’s 2025 class. She is long, wiry-strong, and very athletic. She attacks the basket with a great deal of tenacity and determination, and she absorbs contact well. She can knock down jumpers consistently outside, but she is also one of the best guard finishers at the basket, plus she’s an in-your-face, versatile defender.

– I know I highlighted Kaycie following her play Sunday at the Top-250, but she has been trending up all Spring & Summer. She is such a talented North/South athlete with elite end-to-end speed. She is bouncy, she has great length, and she is such a matchup problem as a defender because of her reaction time to opponents’ passing. She creates a lot of turnovers and can flip ends of the floor quickly, plus she has touch outside and a solid handle to boot.

– With regards to Lydia, I have been most impressed with her consistent and continued skill development over the last couple of years. I felt like she was probably more of a wing forward as a Freshman, but she has worked on making her handle tighter and her perimeter jumper much more consistent. She looks stronger, more aggressive, and just all-around more confident. She’s also an effortful defender who rebounds her position well.
