Friday’s Finest: 12/8

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Friday night hoops were in action all across the region. First, I watched Christian Academy of Knoxville vs Grace Christian. Then, I watched Midway vs Oakdale. Last, it was Cocke County vs Jefferson County. Nothing beats being in the gym to watch the games live, but I enjoyed watching all 3 of these games online! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>First, let's take a look at CAK vs Grace: </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='290962' first='Izzy' last='Proffitt'] <strong>| G | 2024 |</strong> <strong>CAK</strong> - Can we all agree that Anderson University is getting one heck of a good athlete? Proffitt has started off with a strong senior season, including a good all around game against Grace Christian! Izzy was dominant driving to the basket and scoring! Finished at the rim on numerous back to back layups. Izzy is a strong, quick guard that has a great feel for the game! Her offensive skill set was on full display with her passing, ball handling, and scoring from all 3 levels! You have to love the senior leadership that Proffitt provides this CAK team! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='900810' first='Sophie' last='Carroll'] <strong>| SF | 5'9<strong> |</strong> 2026 |</strong> <strong>CAK</strong> - Carroll was very impressive on the boards! She had numerous offensive rebounds to provide her team with extra possessions! Carroll finished great at the rim too! A sophomore that will definitely have more eyes on her! Carroll and all of the CAK squad are impressive! Keep your eyes on this entire team! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='817921' first='Mattie' last='Beard'] <strong>| F | 2027 |</strong> <strong>Grace Christian</strong> - Despite the loss, Mattie showcased her talent against a tough CAK team! Mattie filled up an entire stat sheet with blocked shots and rebounds! Yes, she dropped numerous 3 point bombs too! Beard definitely finished in double figure scoring to go along with all of her hustle stats! I can't tell people enough to keep their eyes on this Freshman! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Next, Midway HS:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='632111' first='Addison' last='Armes'] <strong>| F | 2025 |</strong> <strong>Midway HS</strong> - Armes definitely helped her team win a district game against Oakdale. Addison finished with 10 points and 3 steals. Four of her points came at a crucial time in the 4th quarter! Addison has a nice pump fake, &amp; drive that helps her get to the basket! Armes uses her length exceptionally well on defense. Offensive players have a hard time in the half court set against her length at the top of the defense! Addison had numerous steals and deflections. If she isn't deflecting, she is still causing numerous turnovers! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kali Kile <strong>| G | 2024 |</strong> <strong>Midway HS</strong> - This guard is the ultimate competitor! No lazy passes are coming from Kali!! I love watching her compete! Kali led her Midway team in scoring with 11 points. Just to add: scoring was definitely spread throughout for the entire Midway squad! [player_tooltip player_id='816926' first='Kyleigh' last='Cawood'] flirted with a double-double providing her team with 9 points and 8 rebounds, despite a little foul trouble. Give credit to Abbie Park, Cloa Copeland, &amp; the entire squad too! They all are deserving to be mentioned in this Friday's Finest article! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last, Cocke County &amp; Jefferson County HS:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='496317' first='Madi' last='Hawk'] <strong>| G | 2024 |</strong> <strong>Jefferson County HS</strong> - I am extremely late to the [player_tooltip player_id='496317' first='Madi' last='Hawk'] party, but in my defense, I started this in March! Congratulations to Madi for surpassing 2,000 career points! Wofford is getting one ELITE athlete! Hawk has one of the deadliest crossovers that I've seen. All of her skills were on full display against Cocke County! She is a great all around athlete that is going to be a great asset at the next level! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's not quite time yet for Madi to pass the torch but I know the athlete that is ready for it when the time comes;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='755832' first='Peyton' last='Wood'] <strong>| G | 2027 |</strong> <strong>Jefferson County HS</strong> - When I watched Peyton for the 1st time, I didn't think she was a freshman! Like, [player_tooltip player_id='496317' first='Madi' last='Hawk'], she is going to be a name that Jefferson County HS will always remember! Peyton is long, athletic, versatile, and extremely smart! Most freshman do not compete like Peyton. I've stated that she is one of the freshman athletes with the highest ceiling, and as her varsity time increases, you will know why her college recruitment will take off faster than most! This kid is exactly what you want and I can't wait to see who lands her in the future. First, enjoy your high school run! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='804755' first='Halle' last='Kitchen'] <strong>| G | 2024 |</strong> <strong>Cocke County HS</strong> - The unsigned senior is continuing to put on performances that will draw plenty of interest from coaches at the next level! Despite the loss, Kitchen was stellar! Halle is the ultimate competitor! Kobe Bryant said, "I can't relate to lazy people. We don't speak the same language. I don't understand you. I don't want to understand you." [player_tooltip player_id='804755' first='Halle' last='Kitchen'] doesn't understand the others either! This athlete NEVER stops working. You will not see her take a play off! Kitchen filled up an entire stat sheet &amp; she definitely checked off all of the boxes tonight. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>So many talented athletes and programs across our region and state!
