The number one player in the 2024 class came up to the Benet yesterday and had another efficient night against some of the best players in the state. Froebe has the skillset that will translate to the next level immediately. She seems to play the game with a chip on her shoulder, but has no type of selfishness in her blood. She’s efficient, consistent and just plays the game the right way.
KJ has shown major improvement in the last couple of games that I’ve witnessed. The confidence is present, the aggression on both sides of the ball is there, and the decision making has improved as well. A big second half season is ahead for her.
Highlights
Easily one of the most athletic wings in the state, Williams showed yesterday that she can be a 3&D type when she gets to Winthrop next year. Persias has the up and down speed, the attitude and a magnetic energy that her teammates feed off on. Defensively her length and foot speed allow her to cover a multitude of players.
Offensively the ability to score is present, but it’s her athleticism and awareness on the defensive side of the ball that was on display yesterday. She’s active in the paint (3 huge blocks), and active on the boards (7). A uncommitted player to keep an eye on as the season finishes up.
Highlights
Pape plays the game with a ton of patience but has a bit of aggression in her skillset as well. Shes confident on the drive and doesn’t need more than 3 moves to get where she needs to go. She is a legitimate 3 level threat on the offensive side, and has the frame to cause problems for 1-3 on the defensive side. A tremendous amount of upside.
Riley’s ability to shoot the ball at a high clip is fun to watch, but it’s the confidence that she displays in each shot attempt that sticks out. She has the speed, and strength despite her “small” size to defend both style of guards and brings a ton of physicality to that side of the ball as well. A bright future is ahead for Milausnic at PNW.
Highlights
A system player who could fit into any offensive scheme because of her ability to do more than what meets the eye. At first glance you would believe Rutherford is a 3&D type, but when you watch how she moves throughout the game, you can tell that she has the skillset to be impactful in all categories. A player to keep an eye on.
Highlights
An efficient afternoon for Thompson, who logged 18 minutes, 5-7 in the field (3-5 from behind the arc) and 0 turnovers. Thompson has the frame of the new college guard. Shes lengthy, quick and has a bit of craftiness to her game. Her ability to make plays is a testament to her high IQ as well. Solid upside.
Highlights
Skinner has a little “umph” in her step, and she has the solid frame to go with it. Beyond the arc, Katherine can keep up with some of the best shooters in the state. She’s active, strong and has a good sense of awareness to match. As her skillset starts to fill out, Skinner will be a player to follow as she enters AAU season.
Highlights
Every program needs a player who will do whatever a coach needs of them. Tillman is a key piece to any type of system because of her lack of ego. She rebounds, she moves, and she doesn’t quit on possessions.. whether she scores or not. Her skillset is versatile, and her frame allows her to be impactful in all facets of the game.
Noted as one of the top freshman in the state. Domercant showed her ability to be a threat from deep as well as a threat without the ball in Mondays matchup. A fluid release that stays consistent in all situations, and the ability to stay composed when defenders are closing out. High potential.
Highlights
A guard who has such a pure all around skillset. Her movements are fluid, and her handles are sharp, and her ability to make plays in the air or on the move are present as well. Julia can be your number one option or she can play a role and still be effective. A lot of versatility is present.
