Across the country there will be several college coaches and recruiters looking to make a connection and build on their upcoming Classes for the near future. 10th EYCL team will be staying home this weekend, trying to protect their home court in a sense in Des Moines. Szalo is a 5’10 Shooting Guard/Small Forward that has a good mixture of skill and coordination. She is skilled enough to be able to create off the dribble and score the ball in several different ways but she is also physical enough to just go straight up through contact. Defensively, she can be just as solid. She usually doesn’t get beaten off the dribble but if that does happen, she can recover and still get a stop on the play. Speaking to her athletic ability. Her team is stacked with solid prospects. As long as everyone plays their role, it should be a good weekend.
Highlights
I’ve been really impressed with Claire Turner Claire Turner 5’8″ | PG Spirit Lake | 2026 State IA and how she has conducted herself this AAU season. Turner is a quick handling Point Guard, that has a crafty play-style. She has proven that she is really good at handling the ball and she sells all of her moves with her body movement. I’ve seen Turner compete a few times now and every time she makes a quick crossover play that usual leaves her defender stumbling. Once she gets by that original defender, she can either finish the play with a bucket going toward the rim or she can distribute to open teammates when their defenders happen to over help. Slowly but surely Turner is becoming one of the best overall Point Guards out of the 2026 Class in Iowa. If she keeps it up at this rate, she is going to continue to see success on the hardwood.
Jayden Kuper Jayden Kuper 5’11” | SF Monticello | 2025 State IA is someone that you know if you have been paying attention to Women’s High School Basketball in Iowa over the past couple of years. Kuper is a physical dominant, balanced, and skilled Forward. She has a well rounded game, that yields results on the floor every time she competes. She may not go out and score on every single play but she is good enough average a double-double at halftime of most of the contests she plays in. She understands where rebounds are going to come off of the rim better than most, she can score in a few different ways from all around the bucket, and she can get stops at a high rate vs players that might be taller or smaller. I’m expecting a big Summer out of Kuper if she wants to compete at the highest level possible after her high school career. Something that is more than possible at this point in the game.
ETG Midwest Elite 17U 3SSB will take their talents on the road to Norman, Oklahoma this weekend in hopes of staying undefeated during Live Period #2 on the Adidas Circuit. This group is filled with future Division-1 prospects and one of their best at the guard position is Trishelle Miller Trishelle Miller 5’10” | CG Bishop Heelan | 2026 State IA of Bishop Heelan High School. Miller is a smooth operating Guard. I use that term often to describe players like Miller. She moves effortlessly with the basketball and she can run either the PG position or she can move to the Wing to produce at the same rate. As of most recent she has been re-offered to play her collegiate career at the University of South Dakota after their recent coaching change. I wouldn’t be surprised if she uses this momentum and puts together a successful weekend in front of a lot of other coaches in Oklahoma.

will take the floor this weekend in hopes of continue the great AAU season she has put together so far with her
Nebraska Supreme
15U team. Varn is a lengthy Forward. She has great size for her age and Class level but also has shown that she is coordinated and understands balance. She has demonstrated that she is very good at finishing at the hoop with her natural reach and she can finish through contact at a high rate. This is one of those prospects that if she can continue to grow her game and her athletic ability stays in full gear, she could be a top player out of her 2028 Class. She is on that pace right now but we will just have to see how it plays out over the next few years. As for this weekend, she is going to do what she usually does and compete at a high rate.
