Gross has the ability to get hot and often can string a few threes together. She is fast and does well covering the opposing team’s point guard or quickest player. On offense Gross has the ability to make plays for herself and for her teammates. Her speed with the ball in her hands opens up the floor for to drive or pass to open shooters.

Gross is one of the main keys to her team’s success. She has speed and can match up with the speedy guards on the opposing teams. She has great foot speed and can move laterally and backwards at a fast pace. Gross plays the passing lanes very well and gets her share of steals as a result. Gross can also push the pace on the break and score in transition. She also playmaking abilities to get the ball to her teammates when she draws the double teams. Gross can impact the game without scoring a single point.

Over the summer, I watched Gross breaking the press and setting up her teammates for shots, defending fast guards and stopping them from getting to the rim and scoring. Furthermore, she used her athleticism and speed to complement her point guard, shooting guard, and small forward. Gross is the player who takes the outlet, blows by a defender, and passes the ball to her teammate, who passes the ball to a big for the score. In that example, Gross did not receive credit on the stat sheet, but she was the one with the “hockey assist” that doesn’t show up in the stat sheet. Gross can impact the game off the stat sheet, but she is very capable of filling it up at times. Last season, she had one game with eight three-pointers. She is at her best, and her team is at their best when Gross does the little things that don’t show up on the stat sheet.
