Mariyah is a big, strong, physical frontline prospect with a lot of upside. I’m not exactly sure that she’ll grow much more, however, she is the most physical of this group of posts and has some vertical explosiveness to her. She can bury an opponent on the block, catch, keep the ball high, and explode to the rim. Defensively, she rarely lets anyone get their position, and while she might foul from time to time, she’s willing to show opponents nothing is coming easy against her. I am excited to watch her progression as she builds her skillset.

Mariyah got a taste of Varsity action this season, and she showed flashes at times of what’s to come. She has a solid to strong frame, really nice length, plus she looks like she still might grow another inch or two. She was more of a rebounding and defensive presence this year, but as she continues to build her post moves on the low block, she has the size and strength to become overpowering down low throughout her career. South Bend Adams has a lot of young talent in 2028 and 2029, and they’re rumored to have a nice 2030 class as well. Keep an eye on the Eagles.

Mariyah is another nice prospect in a deep and talented Freshman class for the Eagles of John Adams. She has broad shoulders, long arms & legs, and she is a traditional post willing to be physical and operate on the interior. She has given fans flashes of what the future can hold, and as she continues to add some polish and finesse to her game, look for her to be a nice mid-post face-up player as well. in the meantime, she does a really nice job of playing “big” and establishing a presence around the block at both ends of the floor, plus she clogs the lane defensively and forces a lot of altered shots.
