The leader for the Millard North Mustangs in this one was Senior CG, Emma Vander Plaats Emma Vander Plaats 5'5" | CG Millard North | 2025 State NE . Plaats, a Doane Women’s Basketball commit, is someone that gets after it. Her aggressive and calculated play helps her get easy baskets on the offensive end almost every night. It also helps her in the departments of rebounding, assisting, and defending. From all my experience, Vander Plaats can thrive on or off of the ball. She doesn’t need it all the time to succeed but when she does touch it she can thrive at a high rate. When the final buzzer sounded against Westview, she finished with a team leading 14 points and 6 rebounds. A solid effort when considering the circumstances.

When I watch Emma Vander Plaats Emma Vander Plaats 5'5" | CG Millard North | 2025 State NE compete I see a hard working guard, that uses her advantages when she can on both sides of the basketball. She doesn’t ever really seem to force any action and she knows what she does well compared to others. What Doane is starting to building is shaping up nicely and Vander Plaats commitment there only adds to that. Like for most, the transition might not be the easiest thing from high school to college but I definitely can see how this all fits together.

In half of Emma Vander Plaats Emma Vander Plaats 5'5" | CG Millard North | 2025 State NE contests this past weekend, she was her team’s leading scorer, while also registering some positive stats in the Rebounds, Steals, and Assists categories. This production is nothing new for Vander Platts. She always seems to be a main piece of her team’s puzzle, helping in anyway that she possibly can and that wasn’t any different this weekend. For example, one contest she had 11 points and another she had 10. Making her offensive mark on that side of the floor each game. In the end, Vander Platts should get a chance to play collegiate ball if she wants too. She just needs to find the right system that plays to her strengths.
