Ciara was very efficient and made her presence felt on both ends of the floor. She got things going offensively with a wing three late in the first quarter to keep her team within striking distance. Early in the second, she pulled down an offensive rebound, went back up strong, and drew the foul. She showed a feathery touch on an elbow jumper and displayed solid footwork with a nice post finish in the third quarter, followed by a corner three. Ciara continued to shine in the fourth, driving and finishing over a much taller defender, tracking down a rebound, and coming up with a big block. Her post defense was also on point throughout.

The 6-foot-2 forward and #35 ranked prospect in the nation will bring leadership and a versatile skillset to the Wolverines, a program that had a top-5 recruiting class last year. I am eager to see Byars back on the floor for her senior season.

Byars is a dynamic forward with a ridiculous skill-set. She can post up guards or pull forwards and posts away from the bucket and attack them off the dribble. Byars has a ton of high-major offers already and is hearing from the elite of the elite programs.

Byars, like Macy, would be the top prospect in any class other than 2025. Ciara is a big guard who is capable of scoring the ball all over the court. Byars is also able to facilitate offense for her team and is a high level rebounder.

is one of the best talents to come through Kentucky over the time I’ve been covering the sport for PGH. She outscored and outrebounded her sister Brianna last season so this is less about replacing her, statistically. This season is about the younger Byars stepping up and being the leader of one of the best rosters in the state. Ciara has all the tools on the court. As she matures, she’s going to have to replace her older sister’s veteran leadership and help push her team to the next level.
