Elliana’s speed, ability to play with pace, and impact on both ends of the floor earned her Third Team and Defensive Team honors at the PGH Michigan Freshman Showcase. The Team 2 guard consistently used her quickness to put pressure on the defense, getting downhill and attacking before defenders could get set. She showed she could turn rebounds into immediate offense, securing a defensive board and taking it coast-to-coast for a bucket, while also sprinting the floor hard in transition to create scoring opportunities. Elliana showed a good feel for playing off her teammates as well, executing a well-timed give-and-go that resulted in a finish at the rim. Defensively, her quickness translated just as well, as she stayed in front of the ball, applied pressure, and made things difficult for her matchup. Her ability to push the tempo, attack the basket, contribute in transition, and bring consistent defensive pressure earned her a spot on the PGH Michigan Freshman Showcase Third Team and Defensive Team.

Elliana is a speedy guard for Team 2 who played with a lot of pace at the PGH Michigan Freshman Showcase. Her quickness allowed her to get downhill and put pressure on the defense. After securing a defensive rebound, she went coast-to-coast for a bucket, and she consistently sprinted the floor in transition to put herself in position to score. Elliana also connected with a teammate on a well-executed give-and-go that resulted in a finish at the rim. On the other end, she showed she can be a solid on-ball defender and use her quickness to make things difficult for her matchup.

Her nickname should be “Ferrari” if it’s not already. Elliana plays like a Ferrari on the court, maintaining a full-throttle pace on both ends. She pressured the ball on the perimeter for a good five seconds, defending with her feet and sliding quickly laterally both directions to eliminate any dribble penetration. Elliana scored a speedy catch-and-finish, changed lanes with a sudden crossover dribble, then shifted into high gear for an explosive drive-by bucket. She split the gap to score an inside-hand finish at the rim, went by with a full-speed inside-out move for a layup, drained a smooth corner three, and created steals with her relentless ball pressure. Elliana had a strong showing at Mystics Open Run on Thursday, and it looks like wide open lanes to a huge day at the PGH Michigan Freshman Showcase.

Elliana looked good on film last weekend, and her shifty, hard-nosed presence on both ends was huge for Mystics South 14U at the MBA Mother’s Day Classic. She attacked left off the dribble to score a floater, put her body on the line to secure loose balls, and showed another gear in transition. Elliani zoomed around defenders to score a baseline drive bucket and cut backdoor for another layup. She made great, unselfish passes for assists off of dribble penetration and attacked hard downhill to earn a trip to the free throw line in the closing seconds of a tough matchup. Elliana sank both shots with confidence to give her team the hard-fought victory.

Elliana flies around the court at full throttle. Her shifty ball-handling and aggressive drives stood out on film for Mystics 14U South. She attacked down the middle with a burst and used a nice step-through pivot to score a contested layup with her left hand. Elliana took a dribble hand off on the perimeter, turned the corner with speed, and earned a trip to the line. She changes lanes quickly off the dribble and gets to the hoop.
