Sophie showed some excellent defensive instincts at the Headliners Invitational, particularly when it came to anticipating where the basketball was going. She did a nice job reading opposing players and recognizing opportunities to jump passing lanes, coming away with multiple steals throughout the event. What I really liked was that she didn’t allow those defensive plays to go to waste. After creating turnovers, Sophie was quick to look up the floor and deliver passes ahead to teammates, helping Team Liberty get into transition before the defense could recover. She also showed good timing when challenging a shot, coming away with a block. Her ability to anticipate passes, create turnovers and immediately help turn those possessions into offensive opportunities made her a difference maker defensively.

Sophie made her presence felt on both ends of the floor while competing with Team Liberty at the Headliners Invitational. Her defensive activity was particularly impressive, as she consistently anticipated passes, jumped passing lanes and came away with multiple steals throughout the day. What I liked was how quickly she turned those defensive plays into offensive opportunities, keeping her head up and delivering nice passes ahead to teammates in transition. Sophie also showed good court awareness during 3v3 competition, delivering a nice pass out of the pick-and-roll action to create an opportunity for a teammate. She did a great job running the floor herself, getting out ahead of the defense and converting multiple baskets in transition. She showed her ability to stretch the floor by knocking down a three-pointer from the corner, adding another dimension to her offensive game. Sophie also contributed on the glass, coming away with offensive rebounds to create extra possessions, and showed good timing defensively with a block. Her activity, effort and ability to make plays in several different areas helped her put together a strong performance for Team Liberty.

Sophie is a guard for Team 1 who showed her ability to impact the game in several ways. During 3v3 action, she made a nice read in the pick-and-roll, delivering a well-timed pass to her teammate. In 5v5 play, Sophie consistently found success from the mid-range, knocking down jumper after jumper, while also connecting on multiple shots from behind the arc. She contributed on the defensive end as well, coming up with a block on the perimeter.

Sophie was another one of the youngest players at the Northwood Elite Camp, and the 2030 guard showed she was ready for the challenge of competing against older players. During 5-on-5 action, she displayed a versatile scoring touch by knocking down both a mid-range jumper and a shot from beyond the arc. Sophie also stayed active on the defensive end, competing hard and making her presence felt against more experienced players. Her confidence and willingness to compete up in age made her one of the young players who caught my attention at camp.

Sophie, a guard for Mystics, is one to watch heading into the MI College Tour II at Wayne State. She plays with great balance and control, showing the ability to knock down mid-range shots with confidence. Sophie also impacts the game as a facilitator, making smart decisions and keeping the offense flowing. She does a great job pushing the pace after rebounds, handling the ball well in transition and creating opportunities for her teammates. On the defensive end, her anticipation stands out, as she closes out with purpose, creates turnovers, and even makes plays like blocks from the perimeter. With her versatility and feel for the game, she has the tools to put together a strong showing this weekend.

Sophie shot the ball with balance during the drills and buried a smooth elbow jumper. She showed good anticipation on the defensive end and was an effective facilitator for Team Lynx during the games. Sophie started the fastbreak by pushing the ball using both hands after securing a defensive rebound and closed out hard on a perimeter shooter to block a shot. She snatched a steal from the help side and delivered an accurate bounce pass in stride to a teammate for an assist in transition. Sophie had another solid day at the P2W Headliners Invitational Showcase and will be a great addition to the Clarkston program next year.

Sophie has a deadly outside shot, and she made opposing teams pay for leaving her open at the Headliners Invitational. She moves to open space and keeps her feet ready to shoot off the catch. Sophie drained multiple triples during games, pushed the tempo with her dribble, delivered crisp passes to open teammates, and finished layups with good touch. She earned All-Showcase Third Team honors and is an exciting prospect in the Clarkston program.

Sophie is a sharpshooter from Clarkston who can’t get enough basketball, and I was excited to watch her again at the Headliners Invitational. Her perimeter presence gave Team Liberty a spark during the games, and she sprinted up the court in transition to score layups. Sophie found her hot spot in the corner and drilled a pair of smooth threes off the catch. She handled the ball with poise and was a Top Performer at the showcase.

Sophie will be making her way to the Headliners Invitational this weekend, and I was excited to see her play for Clarkston Gold on Thursday. She caught the ball with excellent balance and created turnovers with her active hands on defense. One of Sophie’s best plays was when she anticipated a pass to grab a steal, drove hard to the rim, and finished with a strong layup through contact. Sophie swished her free throw at the line to complete the three-point play. She buried a pull-up jumper in transition, deflected multiple inbounds passes, handled the ball confidently with both hands, and dished out passes on a rope to open teammates for assists. She poured in six points for Clarkston Gold in the win and will be very productive at the high school level.
