High-level guard that has in a short period of time risen her way up as one of the top shooting guards in the state of Virginia. Elite athleticism is one of the more athletic players in the entire class in the state of Virginia. A great athlete that’s going to a program that she can possibly play some key minutes as a freshman at East Carolina.

Irieanna moves really well without the ball which makes her always open. She athletic and attacks the basket quickly. She was able to knock down shots from the mid-range and the three. She is a leader on the floor and plays with passion.

Irieanna is excellent at scoring on all three levels, and she is an outstanding athlete. She blows by defenders consistently and finishes well around the rim. Irieanna hit a clutch three in a VA Academy win. 

Good size and athletic two guard who game grown over the years! She can score the ball in a variety of ways and plays very weather it’s slashing Keeps the ball tight to her body and uses her quick first step to create space to get to her perimeter shots. Irieanna is the best two guard athlete in the Virginia 2026 class who is equally dangerous on defense!

Irieanna Smoot Irieanna Smoot 5'10" | SG Virginia Academy | 2026 State VA was outstanding for Virginia Academy this year. She transferred from Osbourn before the summer started, and she fit this team really well. Irieanna is an elite scorer from all three levels, and she is a great athlete. Irieanna was another first-team all-state selection in the VISAA. 

Virginia Academy vs Steward was a game I was interested in seeing. Virginia won a close and entertaining game, and their guard play was again outstanding. Irieanna Smoot Irieanna Smoot 5'10" | SG Virginia Academy | 2026 State VA had a big game for Virginia Academy with 20 points. Irieanna has shown her athleticism and three-level scoring ability in her first season at VA Academy. Her transfer there has been as impactful as any in NOVA. 

Virginia Academy played TPLS at the Christy Winters Classic, and Virginia Academy won a competitive game. Irieanna had 16, and her fit on this talented VA academy team has been terrific. Irieanna was one of the leading scorers in the state last year, so the scoring numbers and overall ability don’t surprise me. The seamless fit is what impresses me more, and she helps make this VA academy team one of the best in the state. 

Irieanna Smoot Irieanna Smoot 5'10" | SG Virginia Academy | 2026 State VA ‘s move to Virginia Academy from Osbourn is one of the most impactful in NOVA. Irieanna was one of the leading scorers in NOVA, carrying a lot of offensive responsibility for a struggling Osbourn team. I was interested to see how Irieanna would go from being the clear-cut number one to being part of a team with a lot of talent. From what I saw at DMVlive and based on how talented Irieanna is, I know she will be one of the best guards in 2026. Irieanna is a great defender and has elite quickness. Irieanna is a reliable shooter from three and can put up points in bunches. 

For several games Irieanna was the best player on the court. She showed that when locked in she can be the player that carries her team. She is extremely athletic and has a nice looking shot that she can make out to three. Defensively her quick feet allows her to lock down the perimeter and she uses that same quickness when attacking the rim.

2026′ Virginia Academy Irieanna Smoot 

The incoming transfer from Ousborn was a great addition to an already stacked Virginia Academy squad. Smoot was a supercharged Swiss Army knife all weekend; she had as much impact on both ends of the floor as any player in the event. Smoot demonstrated the ability to penetrate and finish through contact effortlessly. She also showcased her shooting ability, knocking down a variety of jumpers, including tough shots off the dribble. The rising junior has excellent positional length and was a defensive menace especially at the point of attack. She is comfortable guarding positions 1 through 5. Smoot finished the weekend averaging 16.5 points, 5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game while shooting 51% from the field and an impressive 45% from 3-point range. Her profile and skill set are likely to translate well at the next level.
