Marie is one of the tallest players in the EDC, standing at 6’3. She played some spot minutes last season and gained some valuable varsity experience. She has established herself as a formidable defensive presence by the basket. She can plug up the lane and alter shots at the basket. She has the length and size to be an excellent rebounder. Her game will take the next step if she can become a consistent threat on the offensive end. I would love to see Marie pursue offensive rebounds and put back second chance points next season.

Marie is a true 6’2 defensive specialist. She was able to find the floor at key times last season and helped anchor Davies’ tough defense with her length and rebounding ability. She is great at defending without fouling and altering shots. She runs well for a center and can put the ball in the basket when she gets her feet squared to the hoop. She has been working hard in the offseason on her touch around the basket. Look for Marie to play significant minutes next season for the Eagles.

Marie has a great frame for a North Dakota center, standing at an athletic 6’2. I reached out to Head Coach Matt Veit and he let me know that Marie will have a chance to be a contributor this season as everyone gets started on their second half schedule. She recently got her first varsity action against Sheyenne, having to defend 6’4 Cora Metcalf Cora Metcalf 6'4" | PF West Fargo Sheyenne | 2026 ND . She was very solid defensively, blocking Cora twice while keeping the ball in play to rebound and run in transition. You can’t teach height and Marie certainly has it. She will be a quality player for years to come.
