Foster played her first season at 5A Ridge View last season after transferring from Lower Richland and was a major factor in what was another solid season for the Blazers. She would field an offer recently from Chowan University in northeastern North Carolina. Foster played in all 23 of Ridge View’s contests last season as the Blazers went 15-8 throughout its 2025-26. She averaged 7.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals per matchup. She was one of four from the class of 2027 on last season’s Ridge View team. Foster’s final season playing grassroots ball was spent on the Nike circuit with AEBL 17U EYCL and she previously ran with Palmetto 76ers during the spring and summer months of club ball. 

Foster put together a solid debut season with Ridge View last season and is in search of even more for what should be an even more dangerous Blazers assembling than last season. Efficient running of the floor is essential for a talent such as Foster who makes plenty of plays in transition. A good bit of her team’s offense is a result of the solid defense that she plays. At 5-foot-9 she has a height advantage over plenty of her peer guards and played more point guard than shooting guard in Friday’s contest with Summerville. Foster averaged 7.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals last season. 

Last season would see 5A Division 1 Ridge View look to former 4A Lower Richland coach Aaron Lucas to assume the reins with the Blazers after Terrence Gibson left for 4A Brookland-Cayce. It was only fitting one of Lucas’ former Diamond Hornets would follow him to View County. Foster helped propel the Blazers to a second-place finish in its region – only behind a Blythewood team that repeated at 5A Division 1 state champions. Foster would average 7.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game. The 5-foot-8 combo guard was one of four from Ridge View’s 2027 class on this past season’s Blazers roster.  

The second matchup on the four-game day included a contest of 5A Division 1 combatants. It was all Ridge View, all the time as evidenced by the Blazers’ 55-31 victory over the Swamp Foxes of Ashley Ridge. Foster led the Blazers’ stampede with 12 points. She displays her fearlessness with her willingness to attack even if a sea of opposing defenders are waiting for her in the paint. Foster also gives a 3-point shooting dimension to a team’s offensive efforts. Rebounding is also a strong point of her game as is ball-handling and making plays in transition. Foster is one of four juniors on this season’s Blazers version.

Foster made the move up from 48 to 43 this time around. The left-handed Foster doesn’t put up huge numbers at all. Mikayla brings ability to work on both ends of the court with constant hustle and her ability to do some of the little things.

Forster will jump on the deck, grab a loose ball, make a extra pass and bring hustle at all times. She’s a very instrumental part of the Lady Diamond Hornets plans moving forward down in Hopkins.
