Expert Analysis
BJ Batson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Sarah was very good in every game Central Florida Elite 17U Gold played. When the offense was run through her she put the ball in the basket with little fuss and a lot of skill. Jean showed a strong ability to attack the basket and finish through contact where she either scored and/or found herself at the free throw line a lot of the time. Jean was also very good without the ball competing the entire time she was on the court. That effort resulted in steals, offensive rebounds, and beating other players to loose balls. Sarah did a good job turning that defensive effort into offensive productivity scoring on the break multiple times. It is obvious that Jean likes to compete and kids like her who have no backdown are harder to find than you would think. She should be on the radar of college coaches in Florida.

Sarah put together an impressive high school season, nearly averaging 20 points per game while flirting with a double-double and leading her team to a 20-win campaign. Her production and impact translated into a steady rise in the latest rankings update as she continues to gain traction within the class. A tough, versatile hooper, Sarah consistently makes winning plays. Whether it’s finishing through contact around the basket or creating opportunities for others. She thrives getting downhill, putting pressure on the defense as both a scorer and facilitator, and plays with an unselfish mindset that elevates her team. Her ability to impact the game in multiple ways makes her one to keep trending upward.

Sarah has good size and a strong frame for her position and showed versatility on both ends of the floor. She played an unselfish brand of basketball and consistently made winning plays. Sarah was very impressive on the offensive glass, snagging rebounds and creating extra possessions. She finished well through contact and showed touch with a silky pull-up jumper from around 10 feet inside the lane.

showed why she’s an elite talent at the Wildcat Shootout . She brings a physical presence to the paint, and a soft shooting touch around the basket. Then she battles relentlessly on both ends of the floor. Her strength and high motor make up for any height disadvantage. She rebounds well, runs the floor with purpose, and can even push the ball up the floor after securing the rebound. Jean also has good leadership qualities and inspires her team through her relentless effort on the floor. At the Wildcat, Jean showed all of the above. College coaches were in the building.
