Therefore, these players being mentioned will all make an impact on their teams this season all in different ways.
Trinity Massenburg, 6’1, W, Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Freshman
Massenburg is an incoming freshmen this year playing for the Lady Engineers’ varsity team. Last season, she played for the Power Move UAA 15U team. Her height allows her to be aggressive in the paint grabbing rebounds and producing second chance points for her team. Massenburg is also able to stretch the floor and shoot from deep, becoming a dynamic piece for any team she plays on. Watch for the Lady Engineers to use Massenburg in a multitude of ways this season.
Angel Reese, 6’3, W, Saint Frances Academy, Senior
In what can be considered her “Victory Lap” season, Reese is likely to go out blazing. With offers from schools such as: USC Trojans, Maryland Terrapins, and Tennessee Lady Volunteers, it is clear that her game is next level; with the ability to finish in traffic, superior defense, and elite agility. Thus, look for Reese to continue playing at a high level this season.
Mir McLean, 5’11, W, Roland Park Country School, Senior
Coming off a junior year averaging 18.3 PPG, 12.9 RPG, and committing to UCONN over the summer; it should be assumed that McLean will continue to elevate her game this season. So far in her high school career, McLean has had total dominance in the paint offensively; and has been elevating her perimeter game year by year. Based on her performance over the past several years, this year won’t be short of amazing for McLean.
Vashae Rideout, 5’6, G, Western High School, Junior
Rideout is coming off of a great shooting year for the Doves last season, averaging 54% from the field, as well as 49% from 3-Point range. Rideout also has proven to be effective on both sides of the court, averaging 2.0 SPG. This year should serve as a breakout year for Rideout and her shooting abilities.
Charia Roberts, 5’11, F, Pikesville High School, Senior
Roberts is coming into this season as the obvious leader of her Panthers’ team. Known best for her defensive prowess and dominance when it comes to rebounding; averaging 7.8 RPG, which more than half comes mostly from defensive rebounds. Roberts is proving that she is an aggressive player that her teammates feed off of. Roberts has committed to Loyola University, so expect to see her play at a high level to end her high school career.
