While they are programs that are still attempting to discover their identity, or figure out what system works best for them; there are programs this season that have hit the ground running and are out to make a statement this season. Check out this list of teams that are clicking early into the season.
- Saint Frances Academy – Baltimore City, MDThe Lady Panthers are off to a 2-1 start, averaging 83.5 PPG; which comes as no surprise based on their performance last season. Much of their early success has been due to Senior Angel Reese averaging 21 PPG and 8.5 RPG since the season has started. However, she has not been doing this all alone. Teammates Daimoni Dorsey (Sophomore, 12.5 PPG, 88 3FG%) and Aniya Gourdine (Junior, 14 PPG, 7 RPG) are showing that the Lady Panthers can have a consistent and successful Big 3 for the remainder of this season.
- Pikesville Panthers – Baltimore County, MDPikesville remains undefeated at 2-0, and the source to their early success has been ball distribution. The Lady Panthers are averaging 68 PPG and 15 APG. This is being led by Junior Kristin Sterling (18 PPG, 6 APG). However, this team has four other players averaging double digit points: Frances Glover (Senior, 12 PPG), Nakiya Bland (Junior, 10 PPG), Tyra Robinson (Senior, 10 PPG), and Cydney Barnes (Junior, 11 PPG). Expect this squad to continue sharing the wealth amongst each other throughout the season.
- Carver Vo-Tech Bears – Baltimore City, MDThe Lady Bears currently stand at 2-1, which is a huge jump from last season; where they went the entire season without a single win. The early success this team is having this year is being led by Sophomore Kalise Farrar (10.5 PPG, 9 RPG). If the Lady Bears can remain consistent this season, do not surprise if they begin to create more noise as the year progresses.
- Forest Park Foresters – Baltimore City, MDThe Lady Foresters are currently 4-1, and are riding a 4-game winning streak thus far. This year, the Lady Foresters have developed a Big 3 Junior Neah Henry (16.7 PPG, 10.7 RPG, 43 3FG%), Sophomore Danielle Jones (14.5 PPG, 6.5 RPG), and Senior Diamonique Billie (12.3 PPG, 40 3FG%). Expect this team to remain as a formidable opponent for any program this season.
