Laniya Scales Laniya Scales 6'2" | SF Quality Education Academy | 2024 State NC | Quality Education Academy
Scales already has a tall frame that she uses to dominate inside. She runs the floor well blocking shots in transition, and she uses her length to deflect passes making it difficult for her opponents. Her agility is fun to watch with the way she cuts to the basket ready to catch a pass and score. She sees the floor well finding open teammates for the shot or ones cutting to the basket for their own points.
Ella Hobbs Ella Hobbs 6'4" | SF Jay M. Robinson | 2024 State NC | Jay M. Robinson
Hobbs already has a handful of Division I offers like Vanderbilt, Auburn, South Carolina, and West Virginia. Her tall frame has been dominant since her middle school days, and teams this summer even resorted to double teaming her. Her patience when making her moves shows her IQ, and she can handle the ball well driving to the basket. She does an excellent job sealing off her opponents to make it easier on herself when she gets the entry pass. She battles through contact with ease making sure nothing stops her from scoring.
Lili Booker Lili Booker 5'7" | CG Mallard Creek | 2024 State NC | Cannon
Booker always plays like she has no fear whether she is being aggressive on defense sticking with her opponent and knocking the ball away from them or driving hard to the basket. She has a nice shot from all over, and she does well handling the ball creating space for herself. Her quick passes into her teammates make sure no opponents can grab it in transit.
Sheree Gidney Sheree Gidney 5'10" | PF Hickory Ridge | 2024 State NC | Hickory Ridge
Gidney has been working hard to show her versatility all over the court. She is dominant in the paint, but opponents need to make sure they stay close beyond the arc as she has nice range with her shot. She is one of the stronger players in the post when it comes to protecting the basketball and grabbing rebounds. Opponents should give up when trying to drive the ball with her ability to block shots.
Laynie Smith Laynie Smith 6'2" | C East Chapel Hill | 2024 State NC | East Chapel Hill
Smith (pictured above) has had her share of offers come in this summer from schools like Western Carolina, Elon, NC A&T and UNCG. She can certainly show off post moves with her back to the basket, and she isn’t afraid to face her opponents head on. Even with her height, she finds ways to sneak behind her defenders cutting towards the basket and looking for the pass. She follows shots well going after rebounds, too.
