Forest Park’s speed and relentless pressure proved to be too much for CMIT and they coasted to a 67-26 victory to move into the MPSSA final four in the 1A class. Here are the standouts from the game…
Amora Alston Amora Alston 5'1" | PG St. Frances Academy | 2025 State MD , Forest Park, 2024, Point Guard
Amora had a strong game on both ends of the floor. She played stellar defense on CMIT’s guards, moving her feet and pressuring the ball the length of the court. She kept ball handlers in front of her and and really disrupted what they were trying to do. She scored 10 points, including two three pointers and dished out 6 assists. I thought she made good decisions all game and showed good patience.
Destiny Holmes, Forest Park, 2022, Guard
Destiny was force to be reckoned with in this game. She played with great pace and scored several of her 19 points in transition. She is a physical guard that does not shy away from contact and is very fast with the ball. She finished well at the rim and knocked her free throws down. She is capable of playing both on and off the ball.
Aniya Campbell Aniya Campbell 5'7" | CG Western | 2024 State MD , Forest Park, 2024, Forward
At a shade under six feet, Chaniya has good length and size. She has good timing and will box out to grab rebounds. She has a warrior mentality and mixes it up in the paint from the opening tip to the final buzzer. She showed off some improved footwork and a nice touch around the basket. She added a couple of emphatic blocks for good measure to go along with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Makiyah Ward, CMIT, 2025, Point Guard
Makiyah is a compact 5’3″ guard with a decent handle. She was under heavy pressure all game but held her own physically. She is very tough and attacked the rim fearlessly. She showed off a nice pull up hesitation move and the ability to create space. She has potential if she gets in the right work over the summer.
Natalya Walton, CMIT, 2022, Wing
CMIT doesn’t have any real size so at 5’8″ Natalya is mostly playing out of position in the post area. She has good length and speed and set good screens before rolling to the rim. She has a good mid range shot and played solid on ball defense.
