Rising freshmen showing that they are ready for the next level. Here are six that should be watched heading into high school.
Bailey Harris Bailey Harris 5'10" | CG St. Mary's | 2026 State MD – 5’10″ – Combo Guard – MD Shooting Stars
Bailey has good size for a guard and can take over games multiple ways. Wathcing her against Elevate Elite she was using the pass getting teammates involved. She got the ball to teammates in position to score and with seemingly little effort she still dropped 20 points herself.
Lilia Mellor – Combo Guard – 5’8″ – Elevate Elite
Lilia has good vision and sees the floor well. She is a good finisher after the drive. Her drives can get a little wide but her speed allows her to still get by defenders.
Cai Roberson Cai Roberson 5'11" | SF Georgetown Day | 2026 State MD – 5’9″ – Guard – Team Takeover
Cai comes from a bsketball family having an older brother and younger sister that plays. She has good length and is very athletic. Her ball handling has improved tremedously since we last spotted her as a rising 7th grader. She is really good in transition getting up the court very quickly.
Kiamyani Scott Kiamyani Scott 5'8" | SF Rosedale Christian Academy | 2026 State MD – 5’10″ – Wing – MD Shooting Stars
KiKi is physical when she attacks, seeking contact and absorbing it and finishing. She gets to the line often and makes her free throws. She has good form on her shot and a nice mid-range pull up jumper.
Reneyia Pickering Reneyia Pickering 5'6" | CG Elizabeth Seton | 2026 State MD – 5’6″ – Guard – Team Takeover
Defensively Reneyia plays the passing lanes well. Her change of speed is surprisingly fast as she can go from a stop to full sprint in one step. She drives the lane and finishes very well.
Emma Noncheva – 5’9″ – Wing – Elevate Elite
Emma is long and covers a lot of ground sideline to sideline and in her defensive zone. She attacks and bounces off defenders with the slightest contact forcing the officials to make a call. She has a good looking set shot and is a good free throw shooter.
