Wayne Memorial has been a powerhouse in recent years and is always a threat to make it to the Breslin; Belleville has had its share of collegiate players. The Livonia schools are usually feisty teams that put out strong teams. Last year, the East was headlined by a lot of senior talent, but it also boasted multiple freshman that had superb seasons. There will be turnover this year in the East, but the young guns should be more than ready to take over.
Hall of Fame coach Don Palmer referred to Colleena as Wayne Memorial’s most important player. Let that statement sink in for a moment- a freshman more important than three DI players. This kid is a floor general beyond her years and will pilot an absolutely stacked Zebra team. Kid already has an offer from Georgetown.

Off ball defense is half art and half science- players have to know just how much space to give to bait the pass. Rylan does an amazing job of giving just enough room to induce the pass and closes out very well. She does a great job of running plays down and uses proper technique to poke the ball out. While she is a willing passer and scorer, her off ball fundamentals is what I appreciate the most.
As a rookie, Rachel led her team in scoring, rebounding, and steals. It will be interesting to see what she can do for an encore. She is a big time scorer that is going to command constant respect from opponents.
Paris holds multiple DI offers. She is a tall guard that rebounds with bigs and can score with the best. She is a two way player that would drop 20 ppg for a lot of teams. She makes those around her better due to her high IQ.
Daria is a three point shooter that should see a ton of open looks, which she is going to knock down. Her spot up game is strong, and she has the ability to find open space in zones for scoring opportunities. She is also a kid that can put up big rebounding numbers.

Livonia Franklin is losing three All Conference players from last year’s team. Whether or not this year is a rebuild will depend on the younger players stepping up. Gabriela should play a large part in this reload/rebuild. Last year, she was used a that defensive bulldog that harasses lead guards. This year, she should see an increased use on the other side of the court.
Rokaya Ajami
Rokaya Ajami
Rokaya is a defensive centerpiece that shuts the paint and the passing lanes down. She is very quick in passing lanes for a post. Expect her offense to spike this year as Fordson loses an All Conference senior. She has a feisty streak that I love.
