They continue to be a complete team with all five of their starters able to score from anywhere, and they play tough defense the entire game disrupting their opponents’ ability to get anything going. Let’s take a look at who makes up this dominant team.
First, let’s check out the starting five.
Kirsten Lewis-Williams Kirsten Lewis-Williams 5'10" | CG Lake Norman | 2023 State NC is the lone senior on the team, and her leadership is apparent with the way she impacts the game every time she steps on the court. She gets up and over her opponents for some rebounds, and she pushes it right up the court. She can battle against anyone on the block driving hard to the hoop. She likes to make some old fashioned three point plays, and yes she did in fact make the shot from the picture above. She had a nice reverse layup off an offensive rebound to score herself. She slides into the perfect help defense blocking a shot to grab the steal. She is so good at responding when an opponent thinks they might get a run going, she fires right back with her own points.
Samantha Shehan Samantha Shehan 6'0" | CG Lake Norman | 2025 State NC scored 6 of the first 8 points for the Wildcats (and this continued throughout the game) being ready in transition for the pass and bucket. She had a nice fake on a baseline drive to score her midrange jumper. She gets inside for rebounds and makes some nice cuts to the open spots. She is always ready to shoot the ball no matter where she is on the court. On defense, she does a nice job grabbing the ball from her opponents as they try to drive by her.
Alexis Shehan Alexis Shehan 6'0" | SF Lake Norman | 2025 State NC does a nice job pulling defenders towards her and kicking it out when needed. She can definitely handle herself through contact, though, making it count in the paint and from the block. She can fill in any role on the court flashing in and out of the paint and setting herself up around the perimeter. She can score no matter how she starts with the ball even if she works with her back to the basket.
Addison Sirianni Addison Sirianni 5'7" | CG Lake Norman | 2025 State NC was playing some tough defense on the opponents’ best ball handler making it difficult for her to get any passes or drives off for her team. She has tough drives to the paint showing some ball moves running full speed in transition to create separation and score. Don’t leave her open around the perimeter as she will make you pay for that mistake. She can score three points the old fashioned way, too, driving through contact. She even made three free throws in a row shooting technical free throws for her team.
Kelsey Rhyne Kelsey Rhyne 5'10" | SG Lake Norman | 2026 State NC can knock down a shot from anywhere around the perimeter, and she finds ways to make some incredible reverse layups no matter where she starts the drive to the hoop. She makes sharp passes to her teammates even behind the back ones as she is falling out of bounds. On the full court press, she does a nice job sliding into the trap position at the perfect time preventing her opponents from getting up the court.
The Wildcats also have some contributors coming off the bench.
Adason Buoniconti Adason Buoniconti 5'7" | PG Lake Norman | 2025 State NC is tenacious on defense coming right in trying to get the ball back for her team. She strips the ball of her opponents trying to drive by her. She dives on the floor for loose balls, and she does a nice job handling the rock pushing it up the court to increase the tempo. She sneaks into the paint getting the pass for some points off layups, and she has a nice shot from beyond the perimeter.
Jeta North Jeta North 6'0" | PF 1 of 1 Prep | 2026 State NC comes right in grabbing rebounds for her team, and she uses offensive rebounds to score her own points. She battles through contact on the block, too, converting from the free throw line. She showed her range shooting the ball as well knocking it down from deep. On defense, she is a big presence in the paint using her height and length to prevent anyone scoring near the basket.
