They are the best under the radar players in the DMV that for whatever reason many coaches and national scouts haven’t seen. Here they are and why we think that they should be watched closely this spring.
When I first saw Milan I thought that she was an unsigned senior, finding out that she was a freshman was very intriguing. She put up 30 points in a high school game lost where she probably could have scored 50, this was against a below average team. Even though the competition wasn’t elite the skill level she displayed was. She will be facing some of the nations best in the offseason as the EYBL 16U has some of the top players in the country and future all-Americans. She is currently ranked #6 in Maryland and we are watching close to see how everything translates at the top level.
Nadeya is ranked number 10, after taking some personal time off she has returned focused leading her team to a state championship with a 25 point outburst. She is a walking bucket and offensively she is one of the best regardless of class that I have seen in years. Tucked away in Charles County Maryland, not many coaches and scouts even know who she is. If she plays up to her ability this spring/summer she’s going to force college coaches to make the trip up route 301 to see her next season. It won’t take long for the cat to get out of the bag about her as you can see her talent leaking out on the court during her warm up routine.
Theresa is a mystery to a lot of onlookers that have seen her dominate showcases in the offseason then used sparingly during on her high school team. Being on a high profile team in the WCAC there hasn’t been a shortage of coaches coming to her court. A solid spring/summer campaign will force a lot of coaches to adjust their draft boards and will be key to her stock no matter what happens on the high school floor. I expect to see her utilized more next season, however, if winning a WCAC championship is the goal.
Highlights
The injury bug affects a lot of players each year and unfortunately no one is immune. I never let an injury affect a players ranking, however, when they retuhe will be re-evaluated. Some players retuo their previous form, some rush to get back and return when they aren’t 100%. Princess should be ready to go at full strength this club season and there are a lot of people anticipating what her impact will be on the court. She has blazing speed that many defenders aren’t prepared for, seeing that retuo the court will be very interesting to upcoming regional and national rankings.
Emma broke out on the scene in the sixth grade as a sharpshooting point guard with unbelievable range. I’ve been seeing her in high school playing four positions leaving some wondering what position she will be playing over the summer. One scout tried to convince me that she was a forward, but those that have seen her development over the years know that she is a skillful combo guard that can play anywhere on the floor.
