Today we released the Spring rankings update for the Class of 2025. There were 12 new additions in total, plus a few players who raised their “stock”, so to speak, so subsequently there was some movement throughout the list. We have also changed formats to make rankings more exclusive, therefore at this time we are ranking just 75 players in the Class of 2025, with the rest being placed on a watchlist of 85 players. At some point in the near future, those 75 ranked spots will expand to 100. That will likely either be June 1st or September 1st. In the meantime, I wanted to take this time to circle back and address all of the listed prospects, position by position. Below is a look at 28 point guard prospects who make up 17.5% of the rankings this time around, with analysis on a handful to “keep an eye on” detailed at the bottom.

KEEP AN EYE ON:
Kya had a really nice Winter in 2022-2023 for the Lady Wildcats. She has always been a strong, athletic lead guard, but this year she looked a lot more poised and didn’t force the action nearly as much. She can attack the basket and absorb contact well, and she’s capable of knocking down an open rhythm jumper. I also like her defensive potential, especially considering her athletic ability. Keep an eye on Kya this Spring, because she should continue to shine.
Jordan was really good for Castle over the Winter, and the athletic and quick/fast young guard showed the ability to both act as a scorer and as a facilitator. Jordan has solid strength at her size, and I really like her burst off the bounce. She has a quick first step and can get defenders on her hip. She also looks to be shooting the ball much more consistently from beyond the arc. I always enjoy watching Jordan compete at the defensive end of the floor as well.
Vanessa stood out for the Lady Indians during postseason play, and she made a big impact in their upset win over South Bend Washington. She is extremely quick/fast and feisty, she can get through gaps with ease, so when she is knocking down shots from the perimeter, it makes it that much tougher on defenders to guard her. Vanessa missed last Spring and Summer with an injury, so it should be fun to watch her again on the grassroots circuit.
