The players listed below are all individuals who are poised to step up big time for their perspective high schools this 23′-24′ season.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Adalyn Long Adalyn Long 5’9″ | SG Washington | 2026 State IA had a nice freshman year at Washington High School last season. She followed that up by having a successful spring campaign with her 212 Academy 15U AAU team these past few months. Long is a difference maker on the court when she has confidence. She can score in bunches from behind the arc or inside the paint, she can distribute to others when defense over-helps on her, and she can defend players that are alike in size and strength to herself. Long comes in at #38 in this rankings update with some room to grow. If she has another successful summer session with her AAU squad leading into the high school season this winter, then we are going to have something to talk about coming up this fall.

Last season the Pleasant Valley Spartans won the 5A state championship in Iowa behind some veteran leadership, intense game-play, and great coaching. With that being said, this upcoming season a lot of their younger talent is going to need to step up to put together another magical season for the Spartans. One of those talents is Isabelle Kremer Isabelle Kremer 6’2″ | C Pleasant Valley | 2026 State IA . Kremer saw the floor a little bit last year but moving forward, I expect her to see a whole lot more. The 6’2 center is a solid all-around player. An athlete who understands what she is good at and doesn’t try to do to much. Kremer comes into this update at #43 but I don’t see her staying in this spot for very long. If she stays dedicated in the off-season and grinds all the way up until the winter comes, this Pleasant Valley team is going to be in good shape for the 23-24′ season.
I have a feeling that Kennedy Goodheart is going to have a chance to see the floor a lot this winter at Liberty high school. Goodheart, who is a 5’10 shooting guard, brings a lot of positivity to the floor. She can do everything that is asked of her on offense while being a stout defender who understands her size really well. Currently, she sits at #23 in ours rankings for the 2026 class but that’s going to change. Goodheart is the type of player who could put it all together on the varsity floor really quick this next season and get really close to the Top 10. Will that happen? I’m not sure. Only time is going to tell, but until then, she is going to keep grinding and working at the craft she loves.

Averie Lower Averie Lower 5’11” | SG Clear Creek Amana | 2026 State IA is another player out of the 2026 class in Iowa that oozes division 1 potential. A player that stands at 5’11 and has a sniper for an arm when it comes to shooting jump-shots. I’m not just talking about from deep either. Lower is the definition of a shooter. A player that can come down the floor and pull up anywhere over half court with some accuracy. She does a great job of knowing her abilities and not settling for bad shots. She always gets to the spot she wants and produces for the teammates around her. As of right now, Lower is ranked at #8 in the rankings for her class. It’s going to be hard over the next few years for players in the Top 10 to move around in this class because of how good each individual player is but with a killer mindset and some heart, its possible, especially for a player like Lower.

A player that jumped on the basketball scene last year, some-what out of nowhere was Kennedy Hermsen Kennedy Hermsen 5’7″ | CG Monticello | 2026 State IA of Monticello. Hermsen stepped up and was a big time contributor all season long on the floor for the Panthers. She showed off a number of skills while helping her team to victory a good amount of the time. I’m excited to see what she is going to be able to do for her sophomore year. This group at Monticello is going to return a good amount of their players from last season. The coaching within this program has always been top notch so we will have to wait and see what they can string together. If Hermsen does her thing and Jaden Kuper stays consistent, they will have a very successful year, especially in conference.
