Claire Erny is an excellent all-around player and should lead an underrated Broad Run team this season. She is athletic, a great rebounder, and very good defensively.
Langley is a team to watch this season, and what they do on offense will run through guard Anya Rahman Anya Rahman 5’8″ | CG Langley | 2025 State VA . Her shot-creating and shot-making are both elite, and she will likely build off of a sophomore campaign that saw her knock down 61 threes. The part of growth I’ve wanted to see from Anya’s game is you wish at times, she picked her shots a little better, but that’s something she will show this year. She is so talented as a ball handler and scorer. I think you see her put up 20+ a game.
Highlights
Over the past couple of years, injuries have robbed Kennedy of showing how talented she is. Kennedy is athletic and has a really good handle. She has one of the most automatic pull-up mid-range jumpers you will see. She’s so strong that when she attacks the rim, she finishes through people or even over people with her athleticism. Centreville would benefit significantly from having another go-to scorer, and Kennedy surely will bring that. Centreville has a lot of talent, but if Kennedy is healthy, she will most likely start and be terrific.
Emma Komaily Emma Komaily 5’8″ | SG Woodson | 2025 State VA is a well-rounded player who should be Woodson’s best player. She was fantastic defensively last year and always an excellent spot-up shooter. We will see more from Emma’s ability to get to the rim. Over the summer, I saw her drive to the rim aggressively and have a lot of tough finishes. I noticed from Emma last year that her passing is excellent, and she is also a good rebounder for her size.
Highlights
Georgia Simonsen Georgia Simonsen 6’0″ | SF Robinson Seconday School | 2025 State VA is a defensive beast and super versatile on that side of the court. She has excellent length and high-level defensive instincts. Her game has improved so much on the offensive end, and it’s fun to see how much she’s grown. What I like about Georgia is she can score in multiple ways. She can score posting up or attacking the rim. She is a terrific rebounder and always provides energy. Georgia is a candidate to average a double-double, and her points could creep near the 20s per game. She will be Robinson’s best player and should have an outstanding season.
I’ve previously talked about seeing Alexandria Brown Alexandria Brown 6’2″ | PF Osborne Park | 2025 State VA having a big year for Osbourn Park this season. She wasn’t a focal part of their offense in previous years, but Alexandria is just oozing with talent, so I see her getting more of a chance to score this year. Her rebounding and interior defense should be good, and for a team as good as Osbourn Park, having a player you can dump it down to in the post for some points should be huge. Alexandria has a super high ceiling, and I’m confident she fulfills that.
