Pewaukee
The Pirates continued their offensive tear over the past few years. Behind a 36-point outburst against Amy Terrian Amy Terrian 5'8" | PG Pewaukee | 2025 State WI and an excellent defensive performance by Giselle Janowski Giselle Janowski 5'9" | SG Pewaukee | 2026 State WI , the Pirates earned yet another high-profile win this season. The inevitable rematch between Notre Dame and Pewaukee should be electric.
Hortonville
It’s hard to assess the Polar Bears, knowing they won’t be at full strength for a while. However, I loved what the non-main-four kids against Pewaukee. I loved what Leah Hearly, Paige Lille Paige Lille 5'7" | CG Hortonville | 2024 State WI , and Julieyn Martin Julieyn Martin 5'10" | SG Hortonville | 2026 State WI did with their time on the floor. Their ability to find ways to contribute in the postseason could swing some of the most significant games of their season.
Appleton East
The Patriots have a talented group, especially in the backcourt. They can give some of the top teams in the FVA problems because of how skilled and athletic their group is from top to bottom. Ella Sweeney Ella Sweeney 5'8" | PG Appleton East | 2027 State WI , Lindsey Gerrard, and Lilly Meulemans Lilly Meulemans 5'8" | PG Appleton East | 2025 State WI complement each other well, and the versatility of Torie Neubauer Torie Neubauer 6'0" | PF Appleton East | 2025 State WI makes this group dynamic. They’ll be a solid group again this season.
Menomonee Falls
Jade Warren Jade Warren 5'6" | PG Menomonee Falls | 2025 State WI , Clare Shea Clare Shea 5'10" | SF Menomonee Falls | 2025 State WI , and Sophie Trimble Sophie Trimble 5'10" | SF Menomonee Falls | 2025 State WI are as talented as any trio in the state and could 80 with their Phoenix group on any given night. Whenever they force missed shots and get to run in transition, they become one of the most challenging teams in the state to play against.
Hartford
The Orioles have one upperclassman in their rotation, and she’s one of the best juniors in the region, Makena Christian Makena Christian 6'0" | PF Hartford | 2025 State WI . However, their 2026s and 2027s are up there with some of the best in the state. They’re only missing the experience of playing varsity minutes. Rita Kuepper Rita Kuepper 5'6" | PG Hartford Union | 2027 WI , Taressa Hennes Taressa Hennes 6'0" | SF Hartford Union | 2027 State WI , and Bella Klages Bella Klages 5'11" | CG Hartford | 2026 State WI will improve throughout the season, and if things break their way, they could be one of the best teams in their sectional.
Hudson
I thought the Raiders looked well drilled on playing through pressure after a rough outing against Germantown on Friday. They play well together as a unit and will probably kick themselves over the Harford game. However, they have a nice blend of youth and experience. Ella Carstensen, Olivia Grothaus, and Ella Wolfe played well, and their newcomers, Olivia LaBlanc Olivia LaBlanc 5'11" | PF Hudson | 2027 State WI and Devin Larson Devin Larson 5'6" | PG Hudson | 2027 WI , had standout moments.
Muskego
I talked about Muskego having a real chance at winning their sectional, and they’ve looked the best thus far. Melena Glysch Melena Glysch 6'0" | PF Muskego | 2025 State WI had an excellent weekend at KM. Autumn Dibb Autumn Dibb 5'10" | SG Muskego | 2025 State WI showed her versatility. Addy Zacher Addy Zacher 5'5" | PG Muskego | 2024 State WI orchestrated everything they did offensively, and Bella Miller continued to hit perimeter shots. They know their roles, and they excel within them.
Pius XI
Loads of talent have left over the past few seasons, but the Popes got some new kids in the door. They have a few talented freshmen who saw time early, Tess Wiczek Tess Wiczek 5'7" | PG Pius XI Catholic | 2025 State WI looks more confident, Georgia Acompanado Georgia Acompanado 5'8" | PG Pius XI | 2025 State WI is a better version of herself, and Addison Miranda Addison Miranda 5'7" | SG Pius XI | 2025 State WI is blossoming into one of the best shooters in the state. The Popes might be better than they were last season.
Monona Grove
The way Coach Murphy has the Silver Eagles playing is fun to watch. The old saying is, “The team reflects the coach.” In this case, that couldn’t be more true. The Silver Eagles never lack effort, are physically and mentally invested in every bounce of the ball, and are one of the most energetic bunches in Wisconsin. I posted a clip of Danielle Becker Danielle Becker 5'7" | CG Monona Grove | 2026 State WI ‘s go-ahead three-pointer at Waunakee, and Coach Murphy looked as excited or even more thrilled than anyone on the Silver Eagle bench. You can tell they have an excellent culture, and everyone has the same goal. It also helps when you have a talented group with Abbey Inda Abbey Inda 5'8" | CG Monona Grove | 2024 State WI , Brooklyn Tortorice Brooklyn Tortorice 5'10" | PF Monona Grove | 2024 State WI , Karsyn Nelson, Aubrey Smith Aubrey Smith 5'11" | SF Monona Grove | 2024 State WI , Tia Justice, Danielle Becker Danielle Becker 5'7" | CG Monona Grove | 2026 State WI , and more. Watching them play is one of the most fun aspects of the season for me thus far.
