So far, a lot of proven stars have shown brightly with their play in these scrimmages. Let’s take a look at some stars that have come out in the scrimmages.
Collins has been a Michigan high school basketball star for quite some time now. She’s been that in the preseason this winter. Collins has made athletic plays on both ends of the floor. Defensively, she has been challenging shots and frustrating opponents trying to take her off the bounce. On the offensive end, Collins has been scoring athletically from multiple levels and showing off some nice court vision when attacking the rim.
Mark my words, Stemmer is going to be one of the most efficient basketball players in the state. She’s been all that and more throughout the preseason. Stemmer is playing a high IQ game, mixing high percentage shooting and smart passing. This combination will help put her team in winning positions this season.
Bryant’s game really exploded this spring and summer, leaving no doubt that she’s an elite player and prospect in Michigan regardless of class. She’s been nothing short of electric through the preseason. It seems like Bryant can penetrate the lane at will. When she does, she’s an elite passer and has a pretty scoop finish that she protects with the body.
Highlights
I’m going to have to compile my Kara Straub Kara Straub 6’0″ | SF Grass Lake | 2026 State MI articles into a book by the time it’s all said and done. She’s easy to write about though. You put Straub in event previews because you know she’s going to show up. Then she’s always in post event evals because she does indeed always show up. That’s been Straub this preseason – consistent and effective in all facets of her game. There’s no doubt that the story will remain the same once the regular season starts.
Sain is one of the best players in the state, including all classes and all positions. She has elite next level body and control and ease of movement. This preseason, Sain looks ready to go. She’s flaunted some truly top notch handles that helps her attack the defense in a variety of ways. Sain has continued to show an effective unselfishness combined with a takeover mode when needed.
