Bright Future For These Young Guards

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2027 class has reached the stretch run of their Freshman season, so we check in on some of the Freshman guards we caught glimpse of over the summer and preseason. In this article we look at some of the Freshman guards from around the State and see how their seasons have gone so far. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='243916' first='Victoria' last='Valle'] is one of the top Freshman I've seen on film. Valle can flat out score the basketball in anyway that she wants to. That three point shot is smooth and the young Freshman has knocked down 45 threes through 23 games. Valle can do it all: assist, shoot the three, attack the rim, rebound from the guard position, and handle the ball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='248643' first='Naya' last='Hardisson'] has had a solid season at Southridge, scoring nearly 8 points per game and has posted 5 games with 10 points or more. The Freshman guard has also connected on 11 three pointers for the season. Hardisson has received player of the game 4 times in the last 2 months. The point guard has also been impressive doing what point guards do - dishing out an impressive 5.1 asssists per game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='823892' first='Jadyn' last='Watts'] has been balling this season and has proven that she is one of the top Freshman guards in the State. If there is a list of top 2027s, she should probably be on it. Watts is averaging 14.6 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.1 steals. She has speed, size, ability, and confidence. She also has validation from a lot of opponents and coaches on just how special she is. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='439457' first='Nevaeh' last='Lee'] has averaged 14.2 points through 12 games this season and has also averaged nearly 5 steals per game. Lee can score the ball and has posted 4 games this season with 20 points or more. Lee can score in a multitude of ways: off the bounce, in the paint, and the smooth point guard can also shoot the three. She has knocked down 32 three pointers as a Freshman. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='515089' first='Ameera' last='Kone'] has played almost one full regular season and is averaging 16.6 points per game. The young Kone has the "it" factor and obviously, the basketball ability. She can shoot from behind the arc, get to the rim, shoot the midrange shot, and score in transition. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='221598' first='Trinity' last='Berry'] has been. productive on a very talented Ribault team. Berry has had some double ditgit scoring games and has also knocked down near double digit in three pointers for the season. Berry has good size and is imposing on the court when playing at the guard position. Defensively, she has shown a lot of versatility, defending guards and forwards. Berry has great instincts and great speed on the court. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='845958' first='Finley' last='Chastain'] has connected on 34 three pointers in 20 games and has left no doubt that she is one of the top three point shooting Freshman in the State. Chastain is presently averaging 5.7 points per game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='823463' first='Presley' last='Norman'] has been standing out on Varsity for 2 years, so you forget she is just a Freshman. Norman is averaging 9 points per game and has dropped 28 threes against opponents.
