For the second year in a row, I took a team of Maryland players up to Delaware to compete against some of Delaware’s best players. The event is a very fun day for student-athletes as there are multiple girls and boys’ games, plenty of food, music and activities. The main girl’s game was a nail-biter with Delaware coming out on top, 44-41.
Tyler Edwards, Sanford, 2024 Guard
Tyler was outstanding in this game and was rewarded with the game’s MVP award. She scored a team high 13 points and showed the ability to make tough shots under heavy pressure. She is very versatile and is a tough on ball defender. She moved well without the ball and showed off some ball handling skills.
Chaniya Taylor Chaniya Taylor 6'1" | SF Forest Park | 2024 State MD , Forest Park, 2024 Forward
This was a nice outing for Chaniya who is still sorting through her college offers. She led Team Maryland in scoring and rebounding, with 13 points and 11 rebounds. She battled inside all day and still had enough energy to guard out on the perimeter where she did a nice job moving her feet and blowing up screens.
Meona Boykin Meona Boykin 5'7" | CG Loch Raven | 2024 State MD , Loch Raven, 2024, Guard
Meona gave Team Maryland a big spark with her play. She scored 10 points with one three-pointer and helped keep the squad close with her hustle and high motor play. Meona has several D3 offers in the bag at the moment. Her athleticism and scoring ability could help a D2 or D3 right away.
Chasity Wilson, Caravel, 2025, Guard
Chasity’s speed and ability to get to the basket was huge in this game. She scored 13 points and kept constant pressure on Team Maryland’s defense. She made some crucial baskets down the stretch to help Team Delaware hold on for the win.
Jasiyah Crawford, Caravel, 2024 Guard
Another speedy guard with shot making skills from all over the court, Jasiyah did most of her damage in the paint in this game. She was good on defense and helped Team Delaware break the press when needed. She finished with 8 points and 3 assists.
