Continue ReadingKimerer was a menace all weekend for Michigan Cobra 2026 opponents. She’s really developed into a terrific 2 way talent. Kimerer will consistently put up very good offensive numbers. but showed a keen eye for the ball defensively this weekend. She really forced her opponent to protect the ball or else she was sure to knock it free.
Highlights
Stewart definitely made her presence felt over the weekend. She turned heads on both ends of the floor, but her defense ruled the day. Stewart kept a low base and showed very quick feet. She really pressured the ball all weekend and forced her opponent out of comfort positions.
Carter turned in a headline performance at the Nike Girls EYBL. Carter turned heads with her explosive offense, but for me it was her defense that truly stood out. She was getting after it on the defensive end where she proved that she can be a high level perimeter defender, even against elite national competition. Her defensive quickness and footwork was just incredibly impressive.
There is a lot of talk about Bolton’s defense coming away from The Clash. She seemed to play downhill defensive over the weekend. Bolton didn’t just defend, but she attacked her offensive opponent. She did it with quick feet, good defensive positioning and a physical style of play.
Yeah, this is scary seeing her in an article about great defense. We’ve become used to writing or talking about Zinn lighting up the scoreboard offensively, but here she is. She played up and on a new team this weekend and let her defense rule the weekend. Zinn closed out on shooters with hands high and speed and made plays because of it. She also made hustle plays that led to turnovers.
